Simply, I think if we had the money to spend and players were available, I think we'd get players in. And may be do have the money and may be we will bring players in. BUT I reckon we don't have the budget. So, I can only see young loanees coming in. I just feel that the owners are trying to build the club in a sustainable manner, over a medium/long term. Obviously, time will tell.

I think, at best, young loanees upfront and maybe LWB? Can't see experience coming in. Also, not sure who's available in those positions anyway.

For most of the season, I would see Grant on the team sheet at 2pm on match days and think positively about him being there. But on numerous occasions now he just hasn't 'cut the mustard'. He clearly isn't a LWB so what kind of player (positionally) have we signed? I think we've dropped a bo//@(£ not signing a proper LWB both last season and this. If we are to play a system, then we must get the players to play in those positions. Personally, I would ( although I don't think Crosby ever will) try Grant in the midfield 3, especially with Garrity and Funso out. Get Dan Jones in at LWB. Grant, Sang Chissy in midfield? With Grant sitting in front of back 3.

Agree with this! Exactly I feel about challenging for promotion if we went down. Naively maybe, but I would like to think Garrity, Ojo and Chissy stay.

What players are contracted to be with us next season, possibly in League 2? Also, what do people think about Grant as a CM? For me, he's not a LWB. But can we keep him as a CM?

In the short term we could become a conveyor belt of young, talented prospects from the Premiership. Give them plenty of game time in League 1 for then to be recalled back and train with their parent clubs (Blaster) or moved up a league (Devine). Obviously, we won't do this with every loanee but we must becoming more attractive to Premiership clubs who want to give their decent talented young uns some game time. Benefits us and them.

Not counting Lowe and Walters in midfield (as personally I don't fancy them) is Ojo (when fit), Sang, Chissy, Weir and Gore (if he signs) enough in midfield? We've lost: Blaster, Devine, Conlon and Garrity (injury). And is the balance right in midfield? Not sure what type of midfielder Gore is?

Totally appreciate that Loft hasn't shown much but I do think he deserves a longer run in the team (if we are going to judge him fairly) According to the stats I've seen, he's played 448 minutes in League 1 this season. So, in total: 5 games. Don't get me wrong that't's enough time to have scored a couple of goals but it isn't much time. Also, when he has played, how many of those was he up front on his own? For me, Uche and Wilson start. But judging Loft when playing alongside Wilson (and for a number of games) would be much more fair. Playing alongside Wilson may bring out the best in him? But, may be not. But at least he would have had a fair chance. I haven't totally written Loft off and I do want him to succeed.

I think it's the fact that it frustrated me playing Plant at LWB. He clearly isn't one and at times looked the weak link. Get in a LWB alongside Grant whenever we can. Play Plant further forward in whatever Vale see as his best position.

Totally agree about Plant. 100% needs to play in his natural position, if we decide to keep in the squad for next season as opposed to loaning him out. I believe we are looking at him to be a number 10. Give him a go there or loan him out.

It's fantastic for him and his family. I don't mean any disrespect but I hope that he doesn't become Josh Thomas' replacement.
