It’s a game of opinions, but I think it’s a massive disservice to say he’s only been ok in the past. I also don’t think he should be moved on either. Let’s say next season we sign some better centre halves and we need to make a change during the game… if we’re bringing on the yak people would be crying out instead for a player like smith to come on. Listened to this week round of player and manager interviews. Wish I hadn’t bothered really. But my one main takeaway from them was Garritty saying hopefully we can drag Cambridge down with us. Just shows what a <ovf censored> season it’s been when we’re outwardly expressing our desire to achieve relegating someone else.

The players haven’t been good enough, but I think the booing should be more directed at the people responsible for putting this shitshow together (I know flitcroft has gone). I think you’re over egging it by saying he’s been a major contributor. He’s been part of it, but there’s been so many things that have happened this season with loads of players out of form, mistakes galore, managers constantly changing line ups and formations, the club not adding good enough players to the squad. We’ve been unsettled all season. But to pick smith out as a major contributing factor is wrong IMO. Remember when you said smith threw Vale games because he’s a Stoke fan? Well that post you’ve just put is up there with that in terms as one of the most stupid and ridiculous things I’ve read on here. How do you get on in day to day life if you come across a stoke fan?

A good resource for looking at players who we have no clue about, I certainly don’t when I see most names mentioned on here, is an app called FOTMOB. It gives you rating for players based on their contributions during a game. Well worth checking out because it gives their career stats and previous game stats too.

Not really. If we want to get a contracted player off the books then we can just agree to let them go and rip up the remainder of the deal. Depends how much we want to free up wages and get said players out.

Agreed. I’m sure other clubs will have the same idea that this league is probably not as strong with those clubs gone and will go for it too. Chuck some money at the right players and we can get back.

league two will make for some grim grounds to be visiting…. Wimbledon, Morecambe, Harrogate, Walsall, gillingham, Newport, Swindon, Salford, Grimsby, Colchester, crawley, barrow, Carlisle. FFS.

It’s going to be interesting to see how DM wants to set up. Personally I think we should ditch wingbacks as being our main way of setting up and bring in fullbacks next season. I also think our pitch is too big as well. I wouldn’t be against them bringing it in a bit next season if they wanted to and make it a bit smaller.

I’m with Doha. I think we signed players hoping they could do a good job in multiple positions and make do when needed. Trouble is that making do has lasted all season.

We really have a poor squad don’t we…. But stranger things have happened in football, we need a huge slice of luck today.
