Sadly I have heard this too, and he's not the only player saying they are off in June if nothing is sorted off the pitch in terms of the borad and managers. No player likes an uncertain future so do you blame him??

Its not an uncertain future though as they have offered him a two year contract.

 

On the Vital Crewe site they are reporting he is close to signing a two year deal with them after they missed out on him a couple of years ago.

 

I am sure he has more moral standing than to join them.

Gaz is no fool he will stay if the present board leave and will leave if they stay. Yet another good reason for kicking this lot out. Come to think of it it's just like most of us new board new ST old board forget it

 

I Like Owen, but I think his football mind is better than his football body. He doesn't have the centre half presence to play higher than league 1. If I was him and wanting to leave that is where I would be looking not Crewe.

 

I think a good manager can always build a good defence at this level. The issue is trying to sign some good league 1 level midfield players who can shine in league 2 and keep us in league 1 if we can get promoted. Perhaps I am ahead of myself saying that, because our midfield and front men are sending us towards the conference at present.

 

Anyway, back to Owen, Crewe are in significant financial trouble aren't they? Can't afford him?===
