Vale Away Followings (league 2)

Gazleese

Recommended Posts

I suppose they could drop a couple of divisions if that would help their cause.:shifty:

It's the least they can do.

I'm still clinging to the hope that we'll only be 1 league apart next season.

With th run they've been on they really do deserved to go down. If only there weren't so many other ***** teams this year.

Vale's fanbase is smaller, mostly covering about 10 square miles of a city with 40-odd square miles. Social-class wise, it's about the same.

However, there are mixed areas (say parts of Hanley, Kidsgrove, parts of Newcastle, etc) and quite a lot of people choose a club, anyway, for non-football reasons.

Vale's support, then, is good away from home because of this season's successes, as you say, Werrington; but it's usually pretty good anyway since, to support the smaller club in a given area, you've gt to be pretty devoted.

At both grounds, though, and at all football grounds, the low-paid are far less well represented than a generation ago, since the prices are so high.

Incidentally, are there any other mods on here, Werrington, apart from you and me?

Hope there's no grease from Gracie's lying in ambush......

I,m on here because PVFC are my local club

I vowed never to discuss anything again with you and about 3 others so just this once i have let my guard down

You are just not worth it son

I asked why you came on here slagging vale's away followings off, then the minute someone mentions Stoke's the excuse's fly out the bag...'too expensive'...'Pulis borrowed my cap'...'I'm too fat get out the door'...'my mum is shagging my brother'. Stoke fans are embarrassing.

To be fair to both clubs the away followings are pretty good.A lot depends on how well the teams are doing. In Stoke's case it's more hope than expectation when they go away at the moment whereas, because of our position,we go in expectation.Stoke have always had more fans than us,so what? They've historically, apart from the 'Golden Years',been in a higher division than us and always had more money.Anyone can be a Stoke fan,you are either born or are mad to be a Vale fan.

Said it before but Vale's away support has always been better for Northern and Midland games.

A couple of the folllowings this year have been embarrassing, namely Southend and Bristol Rovers.

Rovers were rightly mocking our low numbers, they wouldn't have turned out in such pitiful numbers if the roles were reversed.

Midweek game, bad weather, in a bad run, blah blah blah....all poor excuses really.

I'm not dissing our support, when it's good it's good BUT we really aren't that different to lots of clubs' fans.
