The Global meltdown started because Americans wouldn't pay their mortgages. Sub prime. Sub human.

they offered mortgages to trailer park residents who had no intention of paying ,most defaulted

then the bluddy yanks packaged all those toxic assets up into billion dillar deals and sold them to our greedy banks, i can hear the buggers still laughing.

This strain of capitalism will implode at some point?

Window cleaner who doesn't pay his 22% tax is criminalized. Amazon, Starbucks etc who don't pay their taxes due to 'legal' loopholes and holding the gun at the governments head are carrying on regardless.

This Dickensian system isn't right.

People who advise others how to avoid paying tax should be fined based on the ammout of lost tax.

good thinking, Starbucks etc pay accountants to find the loopholes then have the nerve to claim the fees back as fees paid to professional bodies yet a tradesman has to fight HMRC to get anything when he claims for tools and equipment essential for his trade.:ninja::mad::ninja:

Cyprus could be going down the pan if they don't come up with a solution other than stealing from peoples savings. The Russians are waiting in the background and are obviously only interested in the the local gas fields.

Just shows what the EU is all about, the quicker we come out the better.

The Emperor has had no clothes for as long as I can remember, but no-one seems to have the cahones to say so, AND do something about it. We all are involved: mortgages, possesions and job. We are all afraid to say it's built on sand. Been waiting since 1979 for the collapse of global capitalism, but it don't seem to be coming any time soon.

Why? You want tax advisors fined for doing their jobs?

Everyone avoids tax where they can at some point whetrher that be casjh in hand work, duty free purchases or whatever.

This has always happened and wil always happen unless the customers of such organisations that avoid tax stop giving them custom as a protest against what they do. The directors etc are duty bound to act in the best interest of the business/share holders and so it's only by making tax avoidance a 'bad' thing that's not in the best interest of the business that they will stop doing it

Probably..which would be bad all round

Window cleaner who doesn't pay his 22% tax is criminalized.

And rightly so

Amazon, Starbucks etc who don't pay their taxes due to 'legal' loopholes and holding the gun at the governments head are carrying on regardless.

Well that's not true, Starbucks changed what they do so they haven't carried on regardless and what they do is legal if unethical. The loopholes need to be closed and directors etc incentivised to see tax avoidance as not being good for the business/shareholders

The people have the power..withdraw custom form coMnpanies that do this and they will ave to change their ways..consumerism at its best

Not sure about that...I think a lot of it is looking to provide for oneself and one's family in the future as we increasingly believe that we cannot erly on the social structures in place (NHS, state pension etc) to support us in the future. More self preservation than greed.

However, all people are capable of greed so it's in the mix

Do you accept or reject the idea of society beyond those you are related to?
