ah okay, Rakeem Harper scored one goal, so that invalidates a right-back scoring five goals in a season

Obviously what Bald Eagle’s said gone over your head

Yeah, it clearly must have been so deep and insightful that I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

Apologies if I have upset you Wrex - didn’t realise I needed to write a University thesis to comment on a forum.

My point was that every time a former player does something we should have kept them / should re-sign them.  Paton for instance has once more been touted as the saviour because he scored a couple in the Scottish Championship, which for me is a poorer standard than League 1 (and the top half of League 2 for that matter)

Glad for Gibbo that he is having a good season, and a best ever goals return.  He now has 9 in 9 seasons. A good character, local lad, and a decent player for us when on the pitch.  This is however back in Div 4 with a high flying team, and he has to date not really nailed down Lge 1.

He was replaced when leaving by Mitch Clark - similar injury record, but had more League 1 experience after 2 years and 70+ games ar Accrington and had similarly played well for us in League 2. Have no idea of the contracts either was on (Gibbo rumoured to have had a significant uplift at Brizzle).   This seems like a logical move, bar losing the a local connection (which is a shame).

Twitter is full of rumours today of Tolaj being a target of championship clubs. Probably just speculation, but obvious given how many goals he’s got this season.

Twenty goals and he's missed a month with injury...oh how weve missed his goals, but we go again next season, fresh hope with a newish squad 👌👍

You didn't upset me. There was nothing wrong with your point. Just bizarre that someone else claimed it went over my head.

Yeah, any player who doesn't completely <ovf censored> the bed here does get touted as someone we should re-sign. But with Gibbons, he left us for a better contract elsewhere, played at League One for a few seasons and is now one of the best players in his position in the league we'll be in next season. He's out of contract in the summer. If he had no connection to the club at all and we signed him in the summer, then he'd be lauded as a great signing. He was a popular player, but I have no complaints over him leaving, if we made him a decent offer and got gazumped then we shouldn't pay over the odds.

Fair play.  Didn’t know he was out of contract.  For the record if he pitched up here next year I wouldn’t be disappointed- but don’t quote me on that 😉
