Vale may miss out on dickinson!!

According to the Sentinel due to the restrictions now placed on adams budget wise he may not be able to sign Dickenson

 

He is at Lilleshall at the moment getting fit from his ankle injury and Phil Sproson his agent says he will decide when fit

 

Adams says he did,nt spend all the budget Ryder gave him as he wanted to hold some back to strengthen areas he felt needed tweeking

 

Thats all gone out the window now and says the admins will only allow him to sign up to 20 players

 

Until we find a buyer he can no longer sign any more players!!

Disappointing but expected on my part. This could seriously harm our chances this season of scoring enough goals and ultimately, success. We are still too light up front.

When are we likely to get some positive news. We surely can't keep getting bad news day after day can we? I look forward to the day when the newspapers say 'Vale out of admin after takeover is completed'.

We are where we are as they say, i am sure if MA can wangle some way of getting Dickinson in the team he will, we must remember he is not fully fit yet and to be fair a bit of a gamble for the beginning of the season. What we do have is a squad that know the situation have chosen to stay and fight for the cause. We have an inspirational manager who obvioulsy has the backing of the team to stay with him. What we need to do is back the boys to the hilt starting tonight, supporting the Vale has never been easy, never been an easy option, so for this season again (and it may be our last if a buyer is not found) lets ride the rollercoaster that is PORT VALE and hope upon hope we have a cracking season and with any luck get promoted by any means.

If we can have one out of him and Purcell I would choose Purcell. Dickinson seems a bit of a Gary Roberts and Purcell will be on half what he's on.

Adams says as an example that Lloyd would have to make do with reserve football.....suppose Davis is needed and certainly Johnson...Taylor and Haldane are presently injured....suppose the unlucky Haldane will be the other player from the 22 man squad not to be registered.So we'll have to go with....

So Purcell and Dickinson can't sign even though Artell has gone and two perhaps Lloyd and Haladane can't register

so essentially that leaves just two out and out strikers with five goal Pope and the inexperienced rookie Williamson

having lost 20 goals a season Marc Richards....it doesn't look good in terms of the "goals for" figures.
