Easy to be blasé... more difficult to make a difference to people's lives who really need it like these people at Vale are trying to do.

We need a better social fabric welfare safety net in the first place. Then there wouldn't be any need to have government subsidised charity.

They have indeed..... at the expense of the product on the pitch and probably our League One status though?

Ah yes because all of the playing budget has been spent on charity, glad you're here to audit the club financials though and keep us updated!

Actually I was trying to ask the question, hence the question mark, as to whether or not some of the money spent on community projects could have gone  towards a better player budget. Obviously it was a hamfisted attempt, but I can glean the answer from the replies.  However, since I am not an accountant, I must remember not to ask any further financial questions and I assume (probably incorrectly) that other non-accountants will do the same.

Only an accountant can answer your question. Should some of the Port Vale profits not have been spent on community projects, or Carol have spent their money in a different manner? Bearing  in mind that few L1 clubs make a profit what is an accountant likely to find?

I’d have thought that this would brought government subsidies into the club. Organisations picking up work for the government, can’t be expected to do it within their own businesses financial guidelines.

Providing rooms and kitchens which otherwise would not be used enables community work to be done on site.
