Iron Curtain

If the whole end was open there'd be less/no conflict between standers and sitters.

Probably right. Personally find the whole argument annoying anyway. It's the end we're trying to create an atmosphere behind a goal. Stand, sing, get behind the team and be the 12th man if you're in there. Could make a huge difference. Think Fosse said it previously, it will take a while to figure itself out. People will gravitate towards where suits them best over time. Like I say though, if they absolutely have to net a section off, why that one? Really irritates me when I watch highlights.

No it's because Mike Bagguley left and now, with the Sentinel being part of the Reach PLC media conglomerate rather than a simple local paper, no one there cares anymore.

It’s laughable.

Go on their fans forum and there’s currently two threads running on the Vale. 1) Radio Vale- bemoaning that we are getting more coverage! 2) Toilets roof blowing off and restricted tickets.

Quite remarkable comments.

no mention that stoke fan Pet Smith has Carte Blanche to write 20 articles a day for the sentinel some of which are totally irrelevant ( as he is). Goodness he would write about how his great auntie once met Stanley Matthews in a cafe in Rhyl.

the guy is a twit.

Why has our capacity been restricted, and whether we appealed. Why those appalling away ends at Hartlepool, Salford etc are allowed to be full, as they were when we visited in the promotion season, but we have to have swathes of empty seats in the Railway is beyond me. That Hartlepool stand only had one open exit, and it was really narrow, which caused issues when that Vale fan collapsed after FT, needed paramedics and the gangway was blocked up with other fans. Yet Vale are the ones getting shafted!

An even worse example is Kenilworth Road, home of Luton Town and indisputably the worst ground in the country of any team playing at that level. The Oak Road End where supporters have to enter by passing between the terraced houses and, last time I was there, affording a good view into the adjacent houses, is an accident waiting to happen. Yet it has hosted women's and youth international matches, including the second leg of the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football final. It's a potential death trap in case of fire or other emergency and one has to wonder how it ever gets approved.

So, yes - some serious issues for the authorities to answer that have the potential to deprive the Vale of much needed revenue.

We could become paranoid thinking about it...

Wow! This action plan has gone into some detail, and a lot of things I wouldn't have considered - so well done to the people who've put in this original groundwork. It's not a surprise that some things weren't working when you consider the size of the task to get all this progressed to a satisfactory outcome!

Good first steps!
