OVF feature: Richards ‘is top of Chesterfield’s wanted list’

Surely he won't go to Jesterfield.

If we lose him next season is looking even tougher.

Hope this takeover is complete asap! Can't take been in purgatory much longer.

Take over completion is way off. We are not on the FL meeting agenda for may apparantly which means we must wait until june. They meet mid month so feasibly it could be 1st week of july before we sign players, most of the quality by then will be snapped up, very few players wait around for promises, so if we lost rico we are stuffed as we are left with tripe like pope, a non scoring striker!

Why is Adams saying we've had no offers? Who makes an offer for out of contract players?

Don't clubs still have to inform the Vale if they are interested in our players, as they are still under contract until the end of June? They are still our players at this present time?

No players at Rico's age in their final 3 months can talk to anyone. They cannot however sign until end of contract.

Thank Bosman for that little gem.

We can agree deals with players and complete the paper work once Ryder gets in.

Good players do not sign quickly.

Remember when we got stitched up with Tudor, Rocastle, Lowe et al?

Patience is a virtue.

Bottom line is this:

The Owner, Manager, Players and Supporters should no longer settle for being an 'average' League 2 club.

NO MORE EXCUSES PLEASE

Just an aside, just how poor did Crewe make Southend look over the two games, sums up this league tbh

I really think we have to keep Richards - not just because he is consistently our top scorer and in league 2 generally but it sends out a message to any potential new signings.

If he goes we're just another club in admin losing our best players. If he stays we're a club that have come through the worst and are now rebuilding.

If players have survived the trauma of last season and still want to stay that sends out a positive message to the league.

Spot on. This is our Van Persie moment. As with VP, replacing him will be very difficult.

Hallaluja!! Ive been saying this for years, we have put up with dross for to long, the fact that so many are happy we are resigning toss like yates, mcdonald, pope, griff, tomlinson etc really does sum up how abject our support has become. Support through thick & thin yes, blind faith to players who continually let the fans down...no chance.

Don't think any Vale fan is happy about where we are or how far we've fallen over recent years.

From next season onwards i'm hoping for significant progress in every department throughout the club. Don't forget we've had Bratt & Co for how many years just steadily chugging along hoping for the best, without ever doing anything to make us successful (investment & so on). That's why we are in league 2 & that's why we've got league 2 players.

Now it's different, we've got a new owner. Port Vale is Ryders baby now & i'm sure he will do his best to get us back up the leagues to where we should be, why wouldn't he?

I think we just need to be a little patient & not just expect a massive turn around immediately. I'm confident that over the next few years with Ryder at the helm, a new board, who actually know what they're doing & a decent manager & budget we'll be back to being a successful team once again.
