Rico is without doubt our No1 player and has been for the last 3 seasons.

His loss would be critical. He has shown loyalty and commitment to the club. A credit to Port Vale fC amongst all the vitriol and 'dodgy' dealings of recent times.

Thanks Marc for keeping us in league football.

We must aim higher and Marc is more than capable of playing at a higher level

Well done Marc, and to be fair to his critics he has gotten better every season! I certainly notice a massive improvement from when we first signed him!

Totally agree, he should be the first name on the team sheet. I was not his biggest fan at first, but now I don't know what we would do without him. His goals record over the last 3 seasons has been excellent in the circumstances. For most of the time he has been our only consistent offensive threat!

Richards did receive some 'stick' a few weeks ago by some folks saying that he did not put in his full whack, but he was probably carry the injury that he needs to have an operation upon.

We all wish him a successful operation and a speedy recovery so that he can continue to play next season with the same attitude and determination as he has shown in recent weeks.

When he is on form there can't be many, if any better goal scoring forwards in league two.

Huge respect for this boy.

Yet again proving his loyalty to us.

Fab player, loyal and a great guy off the pitch also.

Todays paper will have made my brothers birthday weekend hearing his fav player is remaining with us!!

Fingers Crossed he bangs in several more this season (and breaks Shrewsburys home record)

In yet another move that proves the loyalty of King Rico ( © Brookersleftboot) to Port Vale, our captain chose to turn down moves to an unnamed League One club, and the six-fingered rentboys from Salop, choosing instead to stay and help Vale.

Maybe now the morons that still abuse him will finally see sense and lay off him. I won't hold my breath.

Does that mean I have to stop calling him fat boy from now on and be nicer to him after games???
