Sounds to me like he's pretty much decided which is a good sign. I suspect the final two line-ups will give an indication of his thinking.

I was thinking the same Rob... 

there will be a bunch of players he wants to stay. 

A bunch of players he knows will leave.

And a final bunch where it depends on their wage demands... Joyce for example would be a very useful squad player but at his age I think he wouldn’t be value at his current wage.

Monty also is interesting... if you hold the belief that you get paid more as a forward player than a defensive player (which in the lower leagues would hold trueish) then we have a left back on forward money... can’t see that working.

Depends on what you define Monty's role as a wingback to be. Worrall has played a lot of games since Clarke joined nominally at rightback. Left sided players are also a lot rarer then right sided players. One would hope Clarke will know what he wants to do with Montano; he managed him for 2 and a half seasons.

What I like most about DC and his press conferences is that he is measured, rational and openly honest.  I sincerely hope that this proves to be an appointment for the long term.
