Mo In The Sentinal

Have joined m club with my 2 children (and husband) and to think and see what we could have had makes me feel quite sad. Mo's eye for business and his determination to succeed is exactly what our club needs.

There is a large number of vales fans who are very backward thinking. They went in the 70s and want the club to be exactly as it was then.

A buisness model like Mo's was exactly what this club needed to revitalise vale and get it competing and at least more attractive and exciting for the younger generations.

You cannot blame kids for supporting Stoke or anyone else - what do Vale have to offer them?

I agree totaly it is up to vale to change really. You have the choice of supporting a football club with poor facilaties and poor football no hope and prospects in league two, or supporting a club in europe, newer modern stadium and doing well in the premier league. well doesn't take a genious.

To be honest it only takes a minimum of one man to change it.

When i started going to Vale in the 82-83 season the gulf was just as big then along came Rudgie!

Of course money has created great gulfs particularly between the 1st and 2nd divisions and Championship and Premier League.

I can see your point totaly. There is alot of upheaval needed at vale atm tho. With the likes of say mo running things we could soon be remoulded.

Money is a big part of it - and only the Bratt Pack seems to think that increased investment and more money for better players is a bad thing.

By 82-3, and for a time after that the club had had years of under investment to put up with by being owned and run by a succession of well-meaning local businessmen with no money and no real idea of how to run a football club (sound familiar?). The result was that the club went into greater and greater debt (sound familiar?) and went down the league (sound familiar?). This was only arrested by John McGrath and Rudgie and through wise wheeling and dealing in the transfer market (which Adams - like it or not - either cannot do or will not do). Bell was another joker, really, but he got lucky by having Rudgie who engineered a cup run in 87-8 and also sold Andy Jones the same season to clear the debt so we went from strength to strength.

What this club has never had is someone who has business skill and knows how to turn a profit - a real professional. That is as vital as cash, to me. I think we need (tin hat time) a better and more flexible manager too, but thats just my view.

i think we all can agree what we want and where we want to be

it's the getting there we seem to stuggle with

at least mo tried to put some building blocks in place for people to see and showed a bit of professionalism in his approach towards supporters and shareholders with his presentation and pamphlet

bratt and the board depended on our acceptance of their word alone and little detail
