Fine little player, really unfortunate with injuries.

 

Heard from friend that plays football in the Wigan & District league, that he's turning out for Wigan Celtic and is playing well.

 

Obviously never going to be a league player again, but good to see him enjoying playing again.

Never mind the injury crisis now, at that time we were signing players who were signing players were never fit in the first place.

One of my fave Vale players, if it wasn't for injuries would of played higher than us in my opinion.

 

Could beat a man with ease and was capable of scoring some brilliant goals, I remember a overhead kick at Vale Park that he once scored.

He suffered Louis Dodds syndrome. Neither player had a position in a traditional formation and neither player was good enough to build a team around by playing an alternative formation.

 

Armstrong really wasn't that good. Had a bit of skill and was a good finisher but nothing else.

Little Armers. When on form, not a bad player for League One/Two. Scored a few belters for us during the 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 campaigns, most notably in the 5-1 demolition of Huddersfield Town at Vale Park.

Good little player just his body couldn't cope with the demands of pro football.

If you put together a video of all Lil Armers' goals for us you'd think he was one of our greatest players. But I bet he didn't manage 50 games for the Vale.
