It's All Starve 'Em Out's Fault.......

Memphis

Recommended Posts

We also lost season-ticket revenue through the Starve 'Em Out campaign.

"In fact, we would not have made it through July if we had not brought in big commercial deals which improved our position and got through that period. But when the Blue Sky deal didn't happen we had the cashflow problem again, so the chairman took out the loan."

The whole point of Starve-em out was to deprive the board i.e. The Club of revenue so that the board would be unable to cling onto power. So to be honest he is totally right. The loan is an attempt at clinging onto power.

Starve em out will never work because those in power will simply take out loans and other measures against the club, which is a limited company. All loans are against the club. The directors' personal wealth is never affected. Deakin/Miller etc even Bratt can walk away with their pockets nicely filled. Mo Chaudry is not going to invest in a club with lots of loans attached that need paying. Administration simply looks at a way those loans can be managed and creditors can be paid.

We are in a worse position. Why would Mo come in to pay a group of creditors? Even with Admin they are not going to go away.

Charley, SEO was never a success as Perry told us so, in fact when several renewed, once Oliver said he was on his way, the clear consensus was then that it was a handful short. So there's lies, and more lies. Why's the Pub Loan been paid off? Were the directors not the same when that was done? Also, could/would not Greene King have been up for some serious dosh too?

........ despite Peroxide Pete assuring us that season ticket sales had not been adversley affected!

"Just before June's Extraordinary General Meeting we also paid back the brewery loan (which stood at £77,128 in the last set of club accounts), because directors still held personal guarantees.

you can't deny that starve em out hasn't deprived the club of money. Other than that, it has achieved absolutely nothing.

Charlie, just to put you right, Bill Bratt invited a rep; from Radio Stoke and any other persons to check the season ticket sales at Vale park, as season ticket sales had not been affected by SEO, the Radio Stoke rep; reported there was not much difference in this years sales than last years, and that statement as been repeated many times by Perry Deakin, so with the statements coming from Radio Stoke P.D and B.B, suggest that SEO as not deprived the club of money.

So it failed in it's main objective then? Or people that pledged were either not real/lying/only in it for the £20 off MO?

A simple 'agree' or 'disagree' answer to the following statement:

'Starve em out was a complete failure and waste of time as it deprived the club of no money whatsoever'

It certainly wasn't a failure at all with over 2 thousand fans signing up for it and making their point and showing disapproval of the incompetent board.

I would agree it didn't have much financial impact or not enough to make a difference because most fans who signed up for it found that they loved the club more than they hated the board and succumbed in attending, I'd say only the Aldershot game was well under what would have been expected.

The main point though is that the fact that SEO even come about and in principle was very well supported was a massive slap in the face for the board and had I been a director I would have felt very ashamed and embarrassed by it all.===
