Reminds me a little of Ashley cole. I think if he can learn the position, he could be our left back for next year. Easily the best in current form that we have had a lb for a few years

When Monty was playing wide left he was our second top scorer so he can’t have been that terrible.

Montano really wasn't that bad.

 

He got injured and was a bit stop-start but as Jean has mentioned was our second top scorer and couldn't get a run in the side. He's a player with talent who was playing in an abject side.

 

I'm not particularly shocked he's doing so well now; his talents been there to see.

I never rated Monty as a left winger. As a left back he is a revelation. He is facing play as a fullback where as on the whole he has his back to play as a winger. He is receiving the ball with more time on his hand to control it and think what to do with it. He does what Raglan needs to learn which is to provide an option for the left sided forward. Because of his background he understands what the winger attacking him intends to do so his defensive work is good. He has the pace to get himself out of positional errors he sometimes makes. He reminds me of Darren Hughes.
