The Germans' equalizer followed a hand ball from a free kick that wasn't a free kick. The Hurst goal has been analysed to death. The ball was not over the line when it hit the ground, but after hitting the cross-bar it had so much back spin on it it was looping back out of the goal. See how far it bounces back away from goal after it hits the ground. It did fully cross the line on its way down from the cross-bar to the ground. About halfway down it is clearly fully over. So goal.

 

It amazes me that people still go on about this. We'd have won 3-2 anyway. And we were way the better side on the day. It's a bit as if, when England actually do something for once in a generation we still have to be apologetic and nit pick about it. Those lads in 1966 thoroughly deserved their win.
