Oldham winding up petition.

Yes, and I don't recall Oldham, or many (any?) other lower league clubs wishing us bad news at that time, or even the time before - or even when we were chucked out of the league in 1967 and nearly everyone voted us straight back.

So it's a shame to see posts hoping Oldham go out of business - Vale can and will stay up by their own efforts and we don't need to wish harm on other clubs of our status.

:yes::yes::yes: Hear hear!

...When will all the money grabbing people in football higher leagues, start putting more into the lower leagues?

Surely the best business model, for the lower 2 Leagues, is for clubs to live within their means, even if the squad is mostly loanees and young players not long out of development squads, with just a handful of experienced players to provide leadership? Rochdale have just announced a season ticket initiative, whereby the more tickets are sold, the lower the price will be - I think we tried this a couple of years back?

As another poster said, when is the last day that points could be taken off them, or is it from the date they go into admin?

This would help us in one way, but is never nice to see to see. When will all the money grabbing people in football higher leagues, start putting more into the lower leagues?

4th Thursday in March (23rd), anything after will apply to next year.

Not that I wish other teams to have these issues, but what is the latest date Oldham can go into admin and receive a points penalty this season?

Not sure actually it's a good question. I'm guessing there must be a cut off a few weeks after the last league games or FA Cup final date perhaps? 30th June always used to be the date on football manager games(where you crossed from one season to the next) but surely that's too late?

We went into Admin fairly late in the season last time didn't we? Although it's never nice to lose 10 points if anything Vale probably took it at a good time in terms of where we were on the pitch, as we were 3 or 4 points off the playoffs yet not really good enough to go up(if I remember rightly?) and it dropped us to mid-table
