No Houses Could Be Built and they knew it!

Just as an aside on the day Mo steps away it has been brought to my attention that apparently the survey done by the Council before loaning the Vale the money showed 5 pit shafts exist under the area owned by the club.

So I can only assume V2001 knew all along that houses could not be built on Vale Park.

This same informant tells me the club's debt to the Council now stands at over £M2.1 (i.e. more than we borrowed).

Perhaps if I forget someone will remind me to ask this question on Sunday.

Just because there are mine shafts does not mean you cannot build houses! How come the pitch, stands etc have not sunk??

You can build anything including houses in, on and around mine shafts. Northwich (salt mines) London (underground) Dubai (built on new sand beaches that were ounce the sea) could go on and on but not really worth it!!

Perhaps times have changed? but will banks not give you a mortgage on a house these days if your house is built over a big hole in the ground that is likely to collapse at some point in the future?

Half of the 'modern' houses around Trentham have been built on rafts to negate

subsidence problems.

Dave - Noted.

Jean, we've now started to accumulate interest and if our payments have not increased then the balance will! It also depends upon how the interest is calulated, it may be added at the beginning of a month/quarter/year. Dave, maybe you could ask about this also.

Our "payment holiday" was a break from the capital repayments - we continued to pay the interest, I believe, so I'm not sure how the sum owing is now greater than it was in the last accounts??

Banks will give loans/ mortgages as they have always have see previous examples. Times have changed and buildings can be built on anything if economically viable! Mines can be filled, by-passed, piled, rafted etc to ensure foundations are stable. Never seen any large craters in or around VP in 40 years!!

Oh yes the potteries needs another supermarket like I need a hole in my head.

Wait a minute didn't Normid build a supermarket on the Vale's Railway car park and what happened to that?. It closed down because of lack of custom.;)

Normid!! You just need a Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda or Morrisons on that site and it would take off!! The site has many access and egress points and is a prime supermarket or retail outlet. Pitch it right, market it correctly and yes everybody needs food to survive. Ever seen a Tesco or similar close down......

We have a great asset in VP!! Enjoy
