Next England manager?

Because let's say we have an Italian manager, and we come up against Italy in a tournament, genuinely, how motivated will he be for England to win. Hand on heart, honestly, I can't see them having the same desire that an Englishman would.

Well, as it would be likely to happen, if you think you cannot do the job you should not take it, Surely this would be detected in the job interview? You are employed as a manager to do your job to the best of your ability all the time, to try and win every game especially in a knock-out competition irrespective of who you are playing. Some wins you may enjoy more than others, but after all it is only a game, it is not like committing treason. As for desire, has it been apparent recently in the Euros?

Just because Jones has done ok with the rugby team doesn't mean that every foreign manager can do it. Erikson was useless, so that argument does not hold water.

 

English managers never get an oportunity of managing the top teams so no-one has really had much of a chance to prove themselves.

 

I'd guess that if the likes of Pardew had the money that Chelsea and Man City have then he'd get them into the top four.

 

We need to start putting forward English names and giving them a chance.
