No problems with Ray but he just didn't have the presence that Mick C has. Mick C bought a lot to the game and said it like it was.

 

Having said that, it was the first time for Ray so perhaps we shouldn't judge yet.

Me to but I wouldn't be surprised. He's definitely not a yes man for sure. Not for one minute suggesting that Ray is by the way.

Can not see Ray sitting on the fence if Acres is prepared to ask some leading questions to him.We will see or hear.

Mick is very good and says it as it is. Not heard that much of Ray, so can't comment on his performance, sounds like he did well but would be nice to have Mick there.

 

You avoid my point Cullerton is very outspoken against the board so I guess you are right he does say it as it is

That could be the problem if the right questions are asked I think RS will try to shy away from the main issues now.

I didnt hear Ray Williams yesterday, its nice to have ex Vale players on RS. have to say its hard to beat Mick Cullerton though, calls it as it is.

I enjoy Mick Cullerton's honest and intuitive comments.He was,of course,a Stoke City commentator/summariser for a while and I just hope that they have not stolen him back.Having said that Ray Williams would be an ideal replacement.He's Vale through and through, knows the game inside out and having worked as Chief Scout for many years he will know a little bit about the inside workings of Port Vale,too.I think I'm right in saying that he relinquished his post because of his feelings about the Board so I'm sure that he will be pulling no punches once he gets his feet under the table.His voice may not be as strident as Micky's but I'm sure that he will speak with the same authority and get his points across just as emphatically.

So is Ray! I think both of them are very good for the simple reason they care. Remember the Brammer debarcle (was it last year?)? He had a grudge to bare and vented it on the radio, instantly ending his chances of a return and making himself look stupid. I think Ray & Mick would be awesome. Ray's spin was wholly positive and he has an inside knowledge Mick doesn't, in that he knows the coaches and players. Mick on the other hand is less positive but no less entertaining- it's a bit good cop/ bad cop, which'd be great.

 

Sadly as we know, if it appears on paper to be a good idea, Radio Joke won't have it!
