Met Marriner in Cyprus this summer, arrogant beyond belief. However in this case in his defence I think it was the assistant who gave the decision and it looked like it was Oxlade-Chamberlain.

4-0 now to Chelsea, they are getting well and truly spanked anyway so no excuses.

Hes a referee, of course hes arrogant beyond belief!

Not an excuse, just a fact. It was an almighty **** up.

It wasn't even a red card anyway as the ball was going wide of the post..

But did the ref/lineo know that? From their perspective an outfield player deliberately handled the ball ob its way/close to goal..red card all day for me..would be an automatic yellow anywhere else so a red when it's in those circumstances

As to the mistaken identity..it happens, fortunately very very rarely

Marriner had a perfect view of the handball and was virtually in line with the shot. He got it badly wrong and the other three officials were equally useless when he clearly asked them for help after Ox-Chambo had admitted his guilt.

Mistaken identity happens rarely but that's twice this season - Vale v Preston, when the guy who should have been sent off scored two goals and won the game for PNE.

Fortunately the FA don't agree with you, JA! Red card for both Gibbs and Ox-Chambo rescinded on account of the ref being blind and stupid.

As I said red card all day for me..it should be a red card cos as far as Ox was concerned he was trying to save a goal..that was his intention..but that's not how the FA rules are at present

Plus I don't agree with using tv replays under any circumstances either at the time or retrospectively...yes change it to Ox from Gibbs but the red should have stood.
