Coors Sunday League Football

Recommended Posts

Bit of a long winded story, but I'm the secretary of a sunday league team, which means I get the joy of the football league monthly meetings. There was a meeting last night in which Vale and Smurf cropped up.

Long and short of the story is the coors league pay vale ~£1000 for rental of the pitch for finals etc so there's some connection there, the league chairman had a meeting with John Booth and the head of betbright a few weeks ago to discuss I think some form of partnership. The chairman then said that post meeting he had a call from "Norman Smurthwaite, owner of Port Vale" who firstly told him that John Booth had been sacked. He then went on to say that he'd like it if we could hold our meetings at VP, when it was convenient (next month is not as Vale have a game on the Tuesday night). He then went on to say that Norman has been personally calling local football teams trying to set up links and even went as far to say that Norman tried to sell the chairman (the head of a local team himself) cheap fertiliser. I have no idea how much of this is bull**** and what this means. At first I thought it was good that he was trying to set up links with local teams. Then it was suggested that Vale are short of money hence the muck selling.

Bit of an odd story I know but thought I'd post as noone else has.

It means that if it's cheap it won't contain much bull****.

Never forgiven Coors for taking the name of Bass away. 'Twelve pints of Coors' just doesn't have the same ring, let alone the same taste.
