My perspective: Legal Beagle

Recommended Posts

LBs posts are as condescending as Tim(lets start a rumour)othius' posts. Advising MA to 'sit back and await the outcome of the EGM' because its the sensible thing to do! I would think MA will decide for himself what is best! Did he not ask for Mo to be installed as chairman before May as it is imperitive that the club move quickly on approving players contracts and putting things in place for next season. Well surely appointing a manager who knows the existing players (and has their full respect) is an excellent move and is good for PORT VALE. Sorry Mo and LB but Port Vale F.C. cannot be put on hold for you!

Where is the money coming from? They could not afford a promotion budget last season, let Davies go to take Chesterfield up, this season will be even worse. MA is fully aware of the situation, and is more likely to be sitting on a beach soon, while his lawyer sorts the Blunts out.

Not a lot there to disagree with. The board will think that they have gained a major increase in popularity if Adams signs for three years, and perhaps they have done so. I appreciate all that LB has said in the original post on this thread but Adams would still be a popular choice amongst supporters, rightly or wrongly. I want this board out. In my opinion, however, if Adams is appointed before the EGM, the success of the campaign to oust the board may well hinge on how LB and his team handle that situation. It should not be underestimated.

YES your rite, you only have to read a lot of post on other threads to see the feelings towards ADAMS and am sure BB is going to pick this up and use it to his advantage ...

Can see where you are coming from but Mo and his team need to be straightforward and not "play the boards games" They obviously have a manager in mind if they take over. I tend to agree with what Andy Jones said on the radio on Tuesday. The fans are split on whether they want Mickey to return. We need a fresh start-hopefully with the ousting of the board in 3 weeks time. I would also like to see the football club look long term and develop a decent youth acadamy. I think Mickey would be a short term fix.

Quite right, short term fix and long term problem no thanks, bumbling on like that far too long. Time for a clear out and a new start.======

IMO Mo should state that Adams future is safe if there is a takeover and work with Adams, in that case then people will not vote on there preference on who is managing the club. IMO adams and Mo can get us to the championship.

I think they have already got a plan to cover it, it is not that difficult.

The fact is we aren't going to get a better or more suitable manager than Micky Adams so even if he does come in and Mo gets the club, he should continue as manager. While Mo is undoubtedly a good businessmen, he is not particularly a big football fan as he has admitted and i dont feel he is qualified or knowledgable enough to choose a manager. Micky is proven here with this group of players and with a bit of extra investment there is absolutely no argument to suggest that anyone else would be a better option. The fact is you have to act fast as there will be plenty of clubs sniffing around Adams, apparently he is on Bradford's radar. If we are messing around for weeks we will miss out on him. It has been stated that if the current board are Vale fans and have the best interests of the club at heart then they shouldn't appoint a new manager, but i think that when that manager would be such as obvious fit as Micky, it is absolutely in the best interests of the club to snap him up asap. In my opinion, Port Vale with Micky Adams in charge is a healthier prospect to pass on to any potential new owners than a rudderless club with no leader.

Who says that Mo's people do not have a better Manager in line? I believe LB has some very good contacts within the game and the potential to attract someone to an up and coming club with financial backing, and a good business plan to boot I could see quite a few known names being attracted.

Where is the harm in waiting three weeks, we've waited this long! The only people's interest this is in is the fabulous five believe me, it's there golden trump card they have dreamed of all along.

People really need to see through the smokescreen they are using the media to distribute. Anyone can make a claim they have been in contact with such and such a name, doesnt mean jack ****. I have been in contact with many a place looking for work in the past; doesnt mean I even got an interview. Please look through the crap being banded about by RS and Sentinel, they are both obliged to publish whatever BB and his spin boys ask them, only wish they would extend the same courtesy to all! OR perhaps they will once Mo is in charge and they will want to talk then.

Anyway for the sake of argument (not with any individual I add) MA has not actually proven anything other than he got a bunch of misfits working together and fit, they strung a good set of results (mainly down to a strong defence) in the early part of the season. We also had some howlers whilst he was in charge remember. We have no ability to score enough goals to susstain a defence led attack on the promotion spots, simple as.

Please remove rose tinted glasses and bear in mind there are alternatives to the same old.

Absolutely agree!! Was going to post something very similar, though you've put it much better than I could.

I think its human nature to look back through "tinted glasses"

The media reports that Bratt has held talks with MA ( According to Bratt) in reality Bratt probably called him to say he was sorry about him losing his job,and passed idle chatter.

Now in Brattsworld that will mean he has discussed terms, length of contract, pension, allowances etc,......and we all know Walter Mittybratt lives in a dream world.:shifty:

I wonder what MA thinks about Bratt disclosing he has talks,SUFC might be interested as well when it comes to a negotiation over settlement ===

As much as it pains me, that is exactly what the board have done Phil, and I do not trust the fans and shareholders to see through it.

I really do not know what Mo can do to counter this.

We can talk about being irresponsible for appointing etc as much as we like, but ultimately it is the trump card that will keep them in power, of that I am certain. We only have a chance of Robbie helping if the majority of fans stand firm, however we all know they won't with Micky the Messiah heading back to Burslem.

We need a rabbit from the hat now LB or we may as well pack it in and walk away.

Agreed Tony, said as much this am when I heard the news, assuming MA does indeed sign, with Owen doing a u-turn we may as well cancel the EGM as we are 'stuffed'.

This will be RobbieH's 'TIK-TOK'....That's what they've based their strategy on and it looks like it may well work.

Hopefully MA will wait until after June 1st and Robster delivers!

The second you say that you would Fire (or imply it) LB is the second you lose a lot of people who support Mo. Why scare off a manager that has proved that he is one of the best in this league at least ?

You are a plonker mate.

You are so pro board its untrue and Adams proved nothing in this league

Thanks Timothius,

We are to contact the shareholders and will use the media in the 19 days up to the EGM.

Posting on OVF should not be under-estimated. Yes we appear to have significant support but each member knows a fellow fan / shareholder and so word and news is spread organically.

That said listen to the radio and read The Sentinel over the next few weeks. Rob F will post alerts in advance.

Regards

The idea of advertising in The Sentinel is an excellent one. Why not take out a double centre page?

I agree with and support the course, I have a couple of uncles though who have now decided to buy season tickets. They read and hear what the board have to say and come back with 'Mo Chaudry, mmmmm, I'm not sure'.

We must win over these people.
