Summer transfer rumours and speculation
Guppys left peg replied to werstayinup's topic in Port Vale present
The one at their place was a really disciplined effort given that was coming just off DC being sacked. What I would give for that a few times this season. Notable also for James Plant playing as a centre-mid in that game and did well up against Morsy and co. -
It was Adams who did it. Was a rash tackle which he was prone to but Adams was wrong to do it so publicly at the time and Morsy barely played for weeks after. Ipswich now promoted to the Premier League. Congrats to Sam especially. Hard to think we were actually making them work really hard to beat us just over a year ago and now look at where both of us are.
-
Really hope he goes on to complete the job today and would expect they will. Always a huge fan of Sam and as you say I think if Micky Adams had his second spell all over again this is one I think he’d want back.

Regards Grant I put him in the same bracket with Sang. I only want them as centre mid options and they’d both be worthwhile I think then. They cannot and must not be wingbacks for us next season, seen enough of that experiment to last a lifetime. -

Micky Adams calling him a coward in an interview after he got sent off and then not playing him for a while after probably contributed to that. He was definitely one who got away from us. -

Correct, just imagine if that actually was a live game and we needed to win to stay up and he did that miss. It still baffles me how he got the ball to end up where it did His fitness is also something that personally I find infuriating that a professional footballer can barely last 60 minutes. -

I think you’re right on that for any like say Shorrock or Walters. Baylee is different though as we signed him to pro terms during the season. -

Picked up an injury during training otherwise would have played from what Moore told Baggers in The Valiant at the weekend. Ticks all our boxes then. -

That header he missed on Saturday and whatever the hell that shot was meant to be from him should be instantly disqualifying. He would only be an asset to us if he was playing for the opposition. -

If there is something to cling to on Uche last years retained list we announced Benning was in conversation with the club but then transpired he had a clause which activated another year but ended up moving on to Shrewsbury. Maybe it’s similar here with Uche?? That is just pure guesswork though. The under contract ones I’m not bothered about right now as that will change as the summer progresses. Hopefully sooner than later. -

Indeed, shows the scale of the task left behind by Flitcroft in all its glory. Just got to wish Moore well with getting things back on an even keel. -

Yeah that shouldn’t be a concern at this point. When DC released everyone before his first full season of memory serves me correct it was only a few days after that Theo Robinson and Scott Burgess were transfer listed so wouldn’t read much into that at this point other than they’re currently under contract. -

Only thing I’d say is if you’re releasing Wilson (which fair enough I have no qualms with) on what possible grounds is there to offer Uche one? How much more evidence is required he is not a striker or even a footballer?? -
Players I never want to see in a Vale shirt again
Guppys left peg replied to philmpv's topic in Port Vale present
He was an ok player but that whole thing about player of the year is just the ramblings of a fantasist. You’re going way down the list that season until you come to him. Just compare his disappointing career to his midfield partner Sam Morsy, says all you need to know. -

Apart from the fact he’s making it up he is just a very strange individual. Bizarre to carry a grudge for so long after Micky Adams virtually sacked him for being an idiot. Wasn’t there some story his club got stolen from him recently though? He needs to seek help really. -
2-1 Bromley now. Altrincham struggling with the aerial assault from Bromley.

Not one I’m particularly advocating for (though I did like him) but Jake Taylor attracting interest from Notts and Walsall with his Morecambe contract now up. -

I think with Shorrock he did some nice things yesterday but also showed he has a long way to go with how he’d run into blind alleys on more than one occasion. Worth noting he turns 17 today so happy birthday to him and he is now eligible to be signed to a full time pro contract if Vale and he are inclined. -
You’d have to say Garrity. Shame very few of his teammates backed up his effort. Dipepa got to be nailed on young player of the year would think.
-
Solihull 3-0 up at Barnet with 5 to go so can take it as read they’ll be in the playoff final. Leaves Altrincham or Bromley in the other game. Hope it’s Altrincham we end up with.

Nothing game. They’re content with the point they need understandably and we don’t have a lot in us. Hope to see the likes of Buah second half. -

That’s called threatening us with a good time.
