Message to Wildes and Smurthwaite

I would like to say a massive thank you to Mr Wildes and Mr Smurf for allowing me to fall back in love with my football club.

You have given us pride, passion and hope for the future, I never thought I would feel this way again after all that MOLD put us through.

Last night was the game that finally through off the shackles of the past and the start of the Vale revolution. The fans are there and treated right and with respect will return.

Thank you both and also to Micky and the players, keep it up and lets all move forward together as one.

I cant wait for the Tuesday. Vale til i die.

Good post agree with all of that - would just add that the realistic admission prices in whats effectively "bankrupt Britain" were a major key factor in the turnout. Ten quid max is about right for Div2 and Div1 football otherwise Fri 5th will be a one off event imho.

It will be interesting to see next seasons ticket prices as I agree with you - in recent years the economy has suffered and expendable income has dropped for many people and unfortunately 'leisure' activities like attending the football become luxuries many people can't afford or can't afford with the same regularity, yet there has been no discernable drop in football prices as far as I am aware of, and i'm not just talking about Vale but every club. I'd like to see prices dropped for next season but it's whether they are brave enough to do so, because i'm sure they could, with some accuracy, predict income based on League 1 football at £20 entry but it's not easy to know how many would be added to the gate at lower price points.

I would expect various offers to suit the different markets, with a priority on increasing children numbers. A sliding scale ST offer, 10 match offer, student offer, etc. But we have to bear in mind that the Vale is a business and the standard of players and wages we need to progress, however we are in much better hands and new ideas can be expected.

I had the pleasure of chatting to the new owners of port vale on Friday night before the game,I was very impressed at their down to earth approach to everything, real nice guys they welcomed us back to vale park, and mixed well with all the old players and staff, they made it a great night to be at vale park, and the result was a big bonus well done vale and a big thank you to all the staff that looked after us so well,a great night to remember.

It was nice to see you back at Vale, Stan, with all the other heroes. Hope you enjoyed the game!
