Birchall international duties

I believe it's an FIFA agreement that players should be avaible for international duties to their national teams on certain dates. I believe it's a fair system. It's better then when the club manager could deceide who could go away and play international matches.

As I pointed out in the other thread (OVF Features section) he will be playing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July - vs El Salvador July 8th at Red Bull Arena, NJ, vs Haiti July 12th in Miami and vs Honduras on July 15th in Houston.

You can't blame the guy for wanting to play in a major competition and to do so he has to be there for the "friendlies" which are effectively warm-up games.

A better question would be, do they really need a warm-up in Trinidad?

Cant blame the lad wanting to play at international level. He will be aware that it possibly means he may not get back in the Vale side. He must have considered this.

I agree as Loft (i think) is back at the weekend so when Chris is back he will strugle to get in the side but after all its his choice. And tbh i dont blame him as he hasnt had much game time this season so that all he proberly wants!

I think its good for him. Bit of a shame it has come just as he has got into the team. But we have enough to cover for this.

I was just looking and was surprised to see that Trinidad are as high a 69th in the world. Higher than N.Ireland & Wales.
