I really hope Coventry stay in League 1 if we go up....one of the few teams I've never seen the Vale play against in over 40 years of watching us. I wouldn't bother going to the Ricoh Conference & Events Centre though. It's the worst of the new stadia, and should not be mistaken for a football ground!

Agree with all the comments the financial rewards next season would be amazing. Can see many games with a ten thousand plus crowd we simply have to get promoted. When have vale ever made life simple though.

 

A bit ambitious to say that we would get 'many' 10,000 gates if we got Promoted however we certainly would get a few 8,000+ gates due to big away followings from one or both of the Sheffield clubs, Coventry etc.

My mate who is a Stoke fan, God forbid, said that Wolves only took 3000 to Stoke last season. I know many probably avoided going to that soulless assortment of red lego, but I think a more realistic following for a league 1 match would be about 2000-2500 Wolves fans.

last time we played Wolves was about 5 games from the end of the season when we were pushing for a promotion play-off place to get into Premiership, in the mid 1999s. As I recall, the match was shifted to a Sunday lunchtime to try to preclude drunken behaviour, but Hamil Road was rolling with empty beer cans and drunken Wolves fans.
