Youth team graduates

Bails

Recommended Posts

It's refreahing to see a few youth teamers starting to make the grade now at VP! Kind of forced on Micky to play/select them, but they are starting to believe they can get their chance and when they do, they appear to taking it :)

Morsy is the obvious example, but theen Sam Johnson is a shining light. Not many keepersin the county would have pulled that free kick out of the top corner.

Joe Davis is making good progress too. looks a promising player! And Ryan Lloyd was fantastic when he came on. Their right back ripped Rob Taylor a new ass hole all night, then young Lloydy came on, pinned him back straight away and ripped him several new ass holes! And a cool penalty, too.

The future is bright..

I must say that I like the look of Ryan Lloyd - he's a very technical player who has a good footballing brain. He needs to bulk/muscle out a bit though in my opinion like Morsy has.

Morsy has been very good this season. We will lose him to a bigger club one day in my opinion but if he leaves us in L1 and for a sizeable fee it will be job done.

Lloyd was watched by Arsenal scouts many times while a youth player and certainly has the technical ability to go a long way in the game....Morsy is the complete midfielder...can pass, tackle, run and shoot and along with Burge will be learning all the time off old man Shuker.

While Johnson looks a great prospect and a safe option as back up keeper Davis who is only a first year professional like Lloyd will be a first team regular within a year or two....not to forget there is an very good youth team left back given games in pre-season certain to get a professional contract.....perhaps the one big mistake was to let Malbon go.

Anyway from Big Ant and Birchall and Paynter the youth team has continued to produce players that might not have always gone on to full potential but have been essential inorder to have a full size squad with cover....Cardle/Prosser/Anyon/Lawrie/Richman/Martin/Malbon all in their own way have been youth team graduates who went on to have a career in their trade and of the players selected from the youth team for a first year professional contract in recent years most are still playing and earning at some level or another which seems to be a fair way to look at and judge the youth team project....that an the multiple cup wins along with the pride when youth team players like Birchall and Lawrie go on to get full International honours.

They love Cardle up in Scotland! Sat on a table next to his at a random Manchester restaurant a couple of years back.. said then that he loves it, but at the same time would have loved to have gone far with Vale. #lipservice ???
