It's filtered down the leagues where players aren't capable of this style. Passing around at the back is alien to them. Hence Smith struggles.

It cost us the 2nd killer goal v Boro . And whilst I can't recall many calamities you feel one is around the corner because most of our defenders aren't capable of one touch tippy tappy stuff. 

4-4-2 doesn't have to be ridiculed as Big Sam dinosaur football. If you have not got the personnel to play wing backs then why the hell persist with it .

No!

I know he had a couple of efforts on goal but we defended well overall
