Hi Rob,.

Getting some ugly looking things on my android when viewing the forum through chrome. Doesn't seem to be happening on any other website.

Had to move to the app as the browser version is totally unusable.

In the first instance have you tried clearing your cache and logging in and out of the forum?

Let me know how that goes.

So I can judge whether this is a one-off or if more are affected - is anyone else having the same problems?

So, a few things:

1. If anything doesn't appear right - please DO report it. Thanks @Emile for reaching out. I don't use every type of device myself and can't possibly know of every issue. However, once I do know I'll look into it.

2. Looks like some sort of CSS issue. 

3. @SFBT @Beamish and @Emile I've changed all three of you to a different theme - one without any OVF branding - would be able to see if the problem is still happening now you've been moved?

CSS is the code/settings that produce the OVF logo/colours/layout and which I'll probably need to tweak. Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you, it was me thinking out loud...

Bear with me as I work through some things - it's not immediately obvious what is wrong and I can't duplicate it on my Android phone so I'm working 'blind' here but I am looking into it!

The forum software I use is called Invision Power Board. 

I have just been on their support forum and this issue (lines across forum posts) has been reported on several forums. 

It appears that something in Invision Power Board is clashing with the latest version of the Chrome browser on phones. It has been logged as a bug and their developers are looking to release a fix ASAP.

So, this is not something I can fix but I would hope a solution will be available soon.

Hi Rob, sorry if I put this thread in the wrong place - is there a better place in the forum?


I switched to the app and it works totally fine.

I'm on android 11 and chrome 110 - let me know if you need any further information

Glitch is still happening so I can send over more screen grabs if needed. I haven't experienced this with any other website.

No problem at all here - just wanted to let you know about it - you always do a wonderful job!

Just to clarify - there's several forums affected by the same problem (so it's not exclusive to OVF) and has been reported to the software company which produces this forum.

Thanks for the info on what you are using - I will pass that on. 

If anyone else experiences the issue please let me know so I can take some software information off you and report it.
