Boycott Shrewsbury Rearranged Fixture

Its a joke asking us to pay to go to a game abandoned due to a fire at their ground. Surely the embarrasment of that happening should be enough to prompt swopping ticket stubs for a comp for the new fixture? They have clearly seen the crowd and decided to make some extra income from the fixture. Even in their statement on the website it admits that their own contigency plan is to allow free re-entry to games which are abandoned.

01743 289177 Jayne Bebb is the lady with the plan

Superb decision if you are a Shrewsbury fan in my opinion.

They are pushing for promotion so their supporters will still turn out. We arent therefore if you can get in free with a ticket stub we would take around 1000 again.

As it is, we will possibly only take around 4-500 and our suppport will not be so vociferous.

It all works in Shrewsburys favour.

If we are safe from any relegation threat by then, Im all for supporting a boycott and people going to a home match / donating to club or club shop.

But if disaster strikes in the next 2 or 3 games before the rearrangement maybe all the support we can muster would be very welcome. Maybe wait and see what happens ?

Spot on Spunkers!

It's a truly disgusting and disgraceful act by Shrewsbury though caused through their very own failings.

Well I have seen them ask their fans to keep the ticket stubs, Surely the FA should be all over them anyway charging us again.

I have kept my ticket stub, i received a text from another supporter saying someone from Shrews and said that if we peoduced the stub we would be admitted again, has this changed?

Think of the costs of floodlights/stewards/police/staff etc. For a club at this level it would be difficult for them to make it free entry. It's not ideal, but it's silly making a fuss as you'll only harm our own team by not supporting them.

if you want to travel to a nothing game you have already paid for, already travelled to at your own expense then thats your choice
