We have lost 20 points from winning positions - Only three teams in the league have a worse record than us in that respect. Torquay have the best record in the league having lost only 5.

 

Yes - not good enough. The amount of points we have thrown away this season has been ridiculous. Very poor.

That difference of 15 points would put us on the verge of the play offs even with the 10 point penalty.

 

A goalkeeper, right back, left back, centre half with pace and a striker that can grab 10-15 goals have to be targets for next season.

Just goes to show that the squad, and IMHO the management, are not good enough.

 

It's a farcical amount of points to have thrown away and I'd also wager that we are up there with the worst sides for coming from behind to take points.

 

Nowt wrong with the management, that stat points towards players switching off and not having the determination and strength of charachter of people like Griff, Richards and Loft.

 

For me I still think we should only be looking to retain Richards, Loft, Griff and Collins if he doesn't make it at Barnsley as first teamers.

 

I would also keep Tomo, Rigg, Davis, Marshall and Shuker as squad players.

You can't coach players attention sadly. He's got the best he can out of a generally poor to average group of players. His record suggests he will do better with better players and a decent budget. You only have to look what Sinnott, Glover, Gannon and Grew got from what is roughly the sane group of players.

 

I don't buy this rumoured salary nonsense, it's just something that's been posted on here and accepted as fact without any factual evidence.

Totally agree. Some people have got it in for him from past none football related matters as wont let it drop.

Doesn't make sense. If we're are one of the worst sides for throwing points away, and you think we're one of the worst sides for not coming from behind it would stand to reason we'd be near the bottom of the league. Forgetting the 10 point deduction were not and never have been.

TBH we all know what happens when were winning - we tend to get deaper and deaper in the hope of holding out but invite pressure which usually results in the opposition scoring and us dropping points.

MA has tried to stop this happening but it seems to have little or no effect. Probably due to the fact the defenders are really not singularly good enough to defend on a man to man basis. Lets face it we have been using full backs that are not full backs and cannot defend ala Loft, Taylor etc and therefore try to defend in numbers. Problem being you don't relieve the pressure and non defenders are always likely to take up poor positions or make poor tackles. We have one defensive midfielder and no decent defensive fullbacks so it always spells danger.
