Disappointed in the Pope

Quote "nobody should not have to not get paid but he should definitely keep his grid well and truly zipped."

Classic stokie education.

Haha I thought that.

Still, if I was one of the players, I just wouldn't comment. Even though he works there, the things he isn't aware of would probably fill a book.

Having said that, I'd be going crazy if I wasn't getting paid. It is still his job, regardless of being a fan, etc.

Silly thread.
Sorry mate but many of the happy clappers may just listen to what Tom says and though I know that its not easy but he shouldn't have said that everything is OK when it clearly isn't. Tom is a Vale fan as well as a player so I thought his comments wouldn't just be about his wage packet.

Agreed, I think if it had been any other player or Adams / Grew he would have been slated heavily quite rightly.

As Tom is a Vale fan arguably it's worse.

No comment should be the order from now on.

Without having heard the interview it's difficult to gauge in what tone Tom meant his 'everything is okay' comment.

The players and Micky are in a difficult position.

Say nowt - criticised.

Say something - criticised.

Perhaps Tom saw what happened with Mr Cappello last week and didn't want to be signing on tomorrow morning.

With respect Old Sage, Vale fan or not, Tom is hardly going to be pictured on the front of the Sentinel holding a balck and gold scarf, calling for the heads of his employers is he? I would hazard a guess that in private his thoughts are not dissimalar to your own, and that of 98% of Vale fans at this current time.

Tell me truthly, what would you do in his position?

Whatever Pope had said people will have jumped on it & formed their conclusions.

While the situation we've got continues they are all going be under scrutiny by certain people.

If he'd have said "no comment" no doubt he would have been accused of hiding something.

His best answer would have been. We have been paid and the manager has told us not to worry. With regard to the rest I can't comment because I don't know the full details.
