having read saturday sentinel it looks like the co op on our old car park will be vacent soon, what a great indoor training area this would make. but i know we have no money. i remember in the late 60s early 70s before the normid store was built watching the likes of jamo, tommy mac and ronnie wilson training on here amongst the pot holes because it wasn,t tarmac in those days. younger fans may not know we used own this land but sold it to the co op to raise much needed funds. when they were building the co op us young school boys used to borrow a ladder to climb over the wall back of the railway stand

The coop is bring revamped from a travel building - certainly wont be vacant anytime soon

But I can't say anything or reveal my source I'm afraid.

I dunna care where they are training.....There is a 3G pitch in Chesterton available for hire.........And their is one at Newcastle College where the Youth teams play (Not 3G, but a good artificial one).

Vale have been training on an un named 3G pitch.. I'm feeling abit rusty.. But did end up paying Nantwich (I think) for the bill that they owed em.. And was just wondering if they had used Crewes 3G pitch (what I got told today)

I know we haven't got a pot to **** in ATM.. But why over the years haven't we installed one anywhere... People always talk of vale having championship ficilities surely we clearly haven't.. What do we have that makes people think different? Who ever comes in after admin should surely have this down as a priority!!

The issue was two -part:

1. That as part of Ritchie Sutton's transfer Vale had agreed to play a friendly. This was part of the contract. Vale then failed to play the game and broke the contract because of a dispute over...

2. Nantwich normally allow Vale to train on their 3G pitches. This is not free and Vale usually paid in kind via loan players. But last season Nantwich had no players on loan so billed Vale the same as other league clubs. Vale disputed the charges, refused to pay and cancelled the friendly.

The result was that OVF was given the contract details and copies of correspondence between Vale and Nantwich. This clearly showed that Nantwich were in the right and Perry Deakin said that Vale were in error and agreement with Nantwich had been reached (this was said during the Q&A with fans at the WMC).

I spoke with the Nantwich Chairman about the matter a couple of weeks later and he had been informed that Vale had indeed admitted their mistake and had agreed to Nantwich's demands. I am not certain if it ever involved any cash, I think it was Vale agreeing to undertake a summer friendly with Nantwich keeping the proceeds. I will check and find out if that is the case.

Wasn't the "Biddulph" side of it just that Vale agreed a friendly with them when the Nantwich dispute occurred and then used that as an "excuse" not to honour the Nantwich friendly (e.g. fixture clash etc)? I am not sure Vale owe Biddulph anything.

I wonder if Vale are indeed using 3G pitches, whether one of the up and coming youngsters (e.g. Ryan Lloyd, Joe Davis etc) may pop off to Nantwich for a loan spell!

Well I think you do. Clearly as you seem to have been wound up by my superior knowledge in this instance.

Vale are not training at Nantwich currently.

I can also confirm that they are not training at Nantwich Town

Does the area they are training in begin with a letter that is not pronounced when saying the name of that area?
