Rangers to Port Vale... do you think he'll be able to cope with the step up from Scottish football Utch?

 

You'll get a lot of these signings now that the Scots are out of Europe but I don't know if the players are up to it?

I remember Bill McCartney he did not play much, although I think he scored the winner away in a 1-0 win at Peterborough that was shown on Anglia TV. However, Midlands did not bother to show any of it locally. For those of the modern era, try to imagine a world without any live TV football at all apart from the FA Cup Final, World Cup and European Cup finals. No internet, no mobiles, to actually see Vale on the TV was so rare so to know we were on and none of it shown locally really really hurt

Sounds like a quality signing.

 

It would be interesting to know who scouted him or is he with an agent that already works with the Vale perhaps?

 

I just get so used to us signing Bristol reserves that this is a definite plus.

 

The only potential link I can think of is the fitness coach at Rangers, Adam Owen, worked at Sheffield Wednesday for a few years so maybe, at some point, bumped in to Micky or Geoff whilst there.

 

Rangers do also play a few bounce matches in England as there is no reserve league up north and Micky or someone else may have just stumbled upon him.

 

Anyway, Andy Little has shown some good promise and I hope it works out for him. As I say, he just needs to settle in a position and he'll be fine.

I don't think that was direct, Jock Wallace took him to Leicester with him.

Kyle Hutton and John Fleck are both available on loan as well by the way. Two very good young midfielders. Might be worth asking!

Indeed, a swap deal for Bob Newton - surely one of the worst transfer deals in Vale's history?! (and probably a major reason that John McGrath's time at Vale didn't last too much longer)

 

Anyway, this Little seems a promising signing from Adams. Hopefully he's over his injuries and can provide either a decent option at right-back or quality competition up front.

As far as I remember, our last Northern Ireland international on loan was David Healy.

A bit of useless trivia for you. His brother, Graham Little, is a presenter on Sky Sports News.

 

Looking forward to seeing Andy play for the Vale, hopefully he'll do well. He needs a bit of luck in his career.

 

And his cousin, Stuart Little, is a mouse
