can anyone help with identifying the shirt in the photos I have scrolled through the list on here but cannot see it?

The striped neck and cuffs are what makes it different, I believe it to be match worn as well, possibly T Naylors, I have others of similar ilk that I can ID.

Yeah, it looks like a sample that never got chosen as a final design as other people have said.

One clue which should help to put a date on it is the old Football League sleeve badge. Vale had a new kit in 1995 that they kept for two seasons - look at these two pictures, the first from 1995/96 with the old sleeve badge, and the second from 96/97 Nationwide began sponsoring the league.

Because of this, I've got a feeling that this could be one of the unlucky prototypes from 1995, especially because the amber piping on the cuffs is similar to what is on the final design. The lack of a manufacturer's logo would also indicate it was made before the deal with Mizuno was struck (they didn't make our kit as such, but they paid us to have their logo on there)

Is there a shadow pattern in the material that you can describe?

Hi thanks for the replies, to answer the question re the cloth it does have a large copy of the club badge within it, I also have one of the shirts within the shirt photo of 1995, for some reason the both have the same traits as each other tags cut out and the number 10 stitched on, the person I had them from worked closely with people behind the scenes around that time which may explain how he got hold of them.
