What I can't understand is why don't the BBC (or channel 4/5) strike a deal with the Football League for sole rights and more live games and a t.v. show showing highlights at a more reasonable time. They could even run to the Conference too.

 

Because, unfortunately, not many people would bother watching them. BBC used to show a live football league game a month but soon stopped. If more people were interested, the broadcasters would end up paying more. Sadly, that's not the case and the league remains a niche interest. This may be a bit 'fox and the grapes' but I don't care any more. Vale are ours (well, Smurfs and ours); I don't want the TV companies' millions. Anyway all the other clubs would get the same amount so it wouldn't even make any difference.
