Should Footballers be on Twitter?

I deliberately named better known footballers because that will resonate better with most people. If I had added in couple of Forest Green players with BA (Hons) and a former scientist in nuclear engineering who now plays for Crawley, no doubt some smartbottom on here would have told me they'd never heard of them.

It's a fair point cos who cares what some unknown non-league footballer is tweeting; it's the impact of the high profile football tweets that matters and can we hionestly say that unlike most non-sporting professions that those at the top in football are the most intelligent?..it's not a prerequisite for getting to the top in football after all.

Not all footballers tweet,some are pretty good with the mouth, ie, footballer trying to impress sweet young thing outside a hotel, she says whats your name he says trying to impress courvosier, ohhh she says isn't that one of them fancy liquers, sorry couldnt resist.
