Quite right - Robbie has made the correct choice.

 

Glenn Oliver told me recently that the board members were well within their moral duty to make the EGM '1 share, 1 vote', because they have put more money into the club, and so he claimed it is only fair that they get a greater say.

 

What then, Glenn, do you make of the hundreds (or even thousands) like myself who donated money to V2001 via 'associate membership'? The associate membership idea - where you could give the club £5 or more if you could not afford shares, was marketed as a scheme which allowed all fans to have a say. I recall been told the 'associate members' would have a voice in the running of the Vale through 'representatives' - presumably the board members.

 

As the board now completely ignore the wishes of fans and supporters, Robbie has definitely, definitely done the right thing.

 

Roll on tomorrow and the celebrations!

At last !!! - a well presented and balanced piece of journalism summing up the general mood.

 

For me the key is the pleas for a smooth transition between outgoing board and interim board - and that is within the gift of the famous 5 alone.

Like the idea of the Robbie Wiliams proxy going to the "supporters club" permanently and perhaps another good idea would be that this could sponsor an elected fans representative on to the Board....infact the problem of the Sims,Gough,Thompstone "interim Board" being one short and open to Legal challenge could easily be sorted out if Robbie Williams sponsored a fans rep from the supporters club......is that idea any good.

Good idea, why not a fans director? Robbies share could drop to 10% with the additional investment, could need backing by small investors, but as you say why not? Better than distributing shares to all shareholders.

I do however think he is this time bang on the money with that article.

 

Mo may not be salvation overnight, but this lot are in an untenable position and somehow don't seem to recognise it.

 

Let's hope that justice is done for club tomorrow and we can begin a new era of positivity and unity behind our club.

The Robbie Williams proxy should go to the supporters club and also sponsor an elected fans representative onto the Board and this fans Director and proxy vote would be a great gift and legacy....would this not also be a great solution to remedy the numbers question concerning the "interim Board" as the Sims/Gough/Thompstone interim board plus the Robbie Williams sponsored fans representative would meet any requirement for a four man Board.
