Unlike me when it comes to the PL but I'm quite excited by the final day, staying up late to watch it, surely City will get a point given that West Ham have 10 men parked in their penalty area? Surely?

The guy commentating with Jim Beglin on the City game has just said during this season City have scored 105 more goals than the Hammers!

 

Now I know they've played more games because of Europe and better cup runs but that's incredible, won't endear Big Sam's negative tactics to the West Ham fans :)

I thought the turning point of Stoke's season was the Man Utd game.

 

They'd had a few very shaky performances over Christmas and January, and before the game they'd dipped into the bottom three because of the result of the early kick off.

 

Beating Utd lifted them right out of the bottom three and into mid-table. In terms of confidence they never really looked back.

Lee Probert kept his cards in his pocket today despite a couple of challenges very very similar to those that saw Shawcross booked twice the other week (not that I'm bitter) although to be fair rather see that than a card happy ref......

Disgraceful decision by Dowd for the 2nd red card. If Ameobi had kept his head though the ref wouldn't have had chance to give him a 2nd yellow....

 

Apparently Ameobi was sent off for being sarcastic! To be fair to him, he was getting manhandled throughout the game, including in the build up to the first Dippers goal, and Dowd was just ignoring the fouls. He was booking Newcastle players for looking at him funny!! As you say, the red card for Dummet was crazy. I still don't know what Dowd gave it for.

 

Nice of MOTD to give us an in-depth analysis of the decisions wasn't it?!!

That would have meant 30 seconds less banging on about Liverpool though. He did look like a real homer though, reminded me of a certain Martin Atkinson at St James' earlier this year :D
