Smurf just been interviewed outside VP as part of Sly Sports News visit to all 92 clubs today

Talked a lot of sense, full of praise for MA and put a great emphasis on the need for fans to turn up in numbers..to paraphrase "I've done my bit now it's up to the fans"

When's it being shown or has it been on ?

Nice guy but tough too..takes no ***t

Loved the comment about the family stand being the same as it was when the stadium was first built

To be pedantic, there were no seats, but someone was bound to say it. Great what he is doing for the club, is he bringing a young Puscas from Hungary, we already have our Hidiguti?

Good interview' date=' what a nice guy Sir Norman is, full of praise for MA and rightly so, as Sir Norman states '' its up to us now '', lets hope we turn up in numbers and ''get vale park rockin '' on saturday and help make it a fortress.[/quote']

It's not up to us though is it, its up to the product on the pitch, good performances and results will naturally attract the supporters, this fortress talk makes me smile Vale Park has not been a fortress since Gordon Lees's days.

I don't suppose he meant it literally

Looks like the kind who would have been a boxer 50-60 years ago..and that's meant as a compliment :)

I know, not to be trifled with, but respected. As he is now. Thinking about it the Railway stand is little changed since it opened in 1954, except the seats have been changed to plastic.

Read abt vale not being a fortress since gordon lee days,i beg to differ,i clearly remember the team of ian tayloe, foyle n co,loosing just the once in the league.

and im pretty sure the team of earle, beckford and futcher, lost just the once at home.

pretty good times at home I remember.

anyway, hoping for vale park to be a very tough place to come this year,as away day wins will be alot tough this time!

of course it's up to the fans. you can choose to go irrespective of results you know?

the only factor i take into account is the price - if vale were to say charge £50 for a home game then i wouldn't attend. recent performances wouldn't come into it
