In South East London they have had problems with the normal post going missing. A number of my friends now have to pick up any post from their bank at a nominated branch as the bank will no longer send post to their home address. One friend has had his ID cloned and back account about 4 times in the last two years.

I was told a short while ago that because the mail couldnt be trusted/wasnt safe that I would have to come in to collect a letter... How did they notify me?.... yes... by letter.

If the postal service is so bad it makes a mockery of stoke councils policy that because they sent a letter you must have received it...

I'd expect privatisation will cause some cultural changes amongst staff so personally I'd expect the situation to improve

 

A friend of mine down here is selling his pub and has decided to (in his words) "semi-retire" and become a postman!! I'll be interested to hear of his experiences going forward
