Another farce to add to the list. The American lad who's deal fell through hads shed some light on why.

Great advert for all these scandi/aussie strikers our Director of Failure is trying to entice over Screenshot_20240204_203418.jpg

Unless there’s something more that’s pretty amateur hour stuff. Applying for international clearance is a pretty standard thing in these transactions. Don’t know who is at fault on this but I’d say this kind of thing wouldn’t have happened with Colin Garlick here.

I was not mate. I have been living abroad for a number of years now. Smurf was a <ovf censored>.

In fact both him & Bratt are pricks. You would have to toss a coin to see which one comes out on top to be the biggest <ovf censored>.

    Both completely destroyed the club

Just personally speaking my disdain for Bratt far exceeded that of Smurthwaite. The latter was pretty up front about the fact he was a complete <ovf censored>. Doesn’t make it right but at least you knew what you were dealing with. Bratt on the other hand all the gas-lighting from him about how he was such a huge fan, “mortgaged his house” and only was a reluctant chairman who really just wanted to be in the Railway (aye right that would be why he moved heaven and earth to block any outside investment when it arose).

  3. I’m guessing this is their way of saying nobody else coming in. Comments should be fun at least…

They should tweet an update on ABBA night, should be guaranteed some engagement on it at least 😂

Where the heck has that come from? Best of luck to him though...

Guess must have waited for his mate Dan Gore to be through the door and now “thanks Tommy you can go now”.

Something I hope we do take from his time as a pro is targeting our loans outward better. The ones we sent him on never seemed to develop him for whatever reason whether it’s the club or him that was the issue. Great opportunity for him now

Off all the transactions I was expecting in this transfer window that one is rather erm unexpected.

What a move for Tommy though. Presumably the fee will have clauses like more cash if he makes a first team appearance and a sell on etc.

Just spoken to my m8 who's given me the details I've shared in the past.

He tells me that Williams is definitely not injured and was sent back because of his personal conduct. But Vale won't deviate from the line that he's injured as it's more important to us to keep the new relationship with Liverpool sweet.

Apparently Liverpool are very apologetic and thankful we've kept a lid on it. Might get more out of them in the future. ..??

That tallies up with Crosbys tone about it in his press conference on YouTube. Was quite guarded about it in a way that came across as there was more he could say if he wanted.

  7. Wish Lewis Cass all the best. Think some have been way over-critical of him at times. Hasn’t helped here that both DC and Crosby rarely picked a settled a back line. Get that confidence back under Challinor who knows him well and am sure he’ll be a success there.

  8. The thing with Loft and I will preface this by saying I still don’t especially think much of him but we need to get out of our heads with him that just because he’s over 6ft he’s a target man. You almost need to treat him like Josh Thomas and knock it into the channels and get him into a foot race with the defender, there is his strength. Playing it into his feet with his back to goal is no good as his ability to control a ball is awful.

Clarke Harris, 550k of guaranteed greatness who would be worth every penny.

On a lower value note, Will Goodwin who went from Cheltenham to Oxford will be an absolutely great signing as a striker. Only 21. We should have been in there👌

It’s not just the fee. If a bigger club like Charlton who get more through the gate each week than we do couldn’t agree personal terms with JCH realistically what chance would we have without taking a big step towards bankruptcy? It’d be within a year we’d go the same way as Reading.

Goodwin has got less production this season than Garrity.

There was an interview with Will Ryder in the Mike Baggaley newsletter and the reply was the club were bemused by it all and had stressed there had been no contact from any of those clubs enquiring about Brazier.

Just seen on the Radio Stoke updates he was asked about it and said as suspected his agent had concocted it. On one hand it’s almost admirable to shoot so high but just hope it doesn’t damage the lad putting that sort of pressure and focus on him.

Sounds like 2 loans to come and we are done. LWB and ST.

    Cant argue with that.

Honestly they’re the positions that stand out like a sore thumb to me. Ideally would have liked a permanent one but take the point about the cost at the moment and they’ve been front up on it.

I'll be gutted if shorrock doesn't sign a new deal with the Vale . 🤔 🥺 # class player.

From what Flitcroft said it seems promising that Shorrock will commit his future to the club.

Hindsight speaking now but wish Phil had asked him about Brazier and these stories that keep getting fed about Barca etc.

Or maybe there just better than Cheltenhams level mate? Only one i can think of is Cass who he would maybe make a move for. Enjoy your porridge 😂

I have to admit I thought for sure Conlon would follow DC down to Cheltenham but maybe it came down to money and location. Oldham probably in a position since the takeover to offer better to him on both counts. Wouldn’t shock me if he made a move for Gibbo in the remainder of the window though.

LWB and ST permanently and I think it’s been as a good a window as possible

Yeah preferably with some pace in both positions. Can never have too much of that. Also frees up Grant if the mood or situation takes to have him play inside too.

Interesting comments from Flitcroft on the official announcement that Man Utd have been scouting us for a while. Opening up some doors for us that weren’t there previously. Just so long as remember we have to have our own permanent core I like the strategy.

"We have worked tirelessly to create trust and bonds with the country's best clubs and we can now present evidence of the strategy through our successful loans in the first half of the season, highlighting game time opportunities, a platform to learn and develop and support systems on and off the pitch.

"We as a club have been scouted by Manchester United over a period of time, they have interviewed us and selected us based on how we play and how we support young players”
