Expect this will be a sterner challenge for us. Northampton a decent side and have a manager I really rate in Jon Brady. Surprised his name never gets linked when vacancies higher up become open to be honest. We seem to be operating more as a unit now both defensively and going forward so hopefully can carry that into this one. Draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but no reason we can’t push for all three points.

Tried to avoid any of the away commentary since the lockdown season and we went to Tranmere with two of the most biased and parochial individuals I’ve ever had the misfortune to listen to. From that point on where possible have chosen to switch to the Vale one when watching on iFollow. Phil isn’t Barry Davies or John Motson but then I don’t expect him to be.

Alan Nixon also reporting the same thing. Apparently Jim Ratcliffe wants United to be at the forefront in snapping up any top young domestic talent so seems they are willing to do whatever it takes. Just as well we got Baylee on that 2 year pro deal now.

Alan Nixon has a story on Vale in tomorrows paper....... now i wonder who
The obvious one would be Dipepa being watched by higher up clubs but I’d be surprised if he hadn’t been. Guess the other ones potentially are either thee future with the DOF position or maybe depending on Dan Gores injury status if he has gone back to Utd.
Just for the summer please nobody suggest Hudlin after watching him last weekend at Burton. And if we are linked then the recruitment team to be fired on the spot.

The next stage in his development now will be as he keeps performing like this sooner than later opposition teams at this level are going to start marking him out for special treatment.. If he can overcome that then that is a huge plus for him.

I believe the players blamed him for sacking Crosby and not doing anything positive in the window . When he went it was a fresh start for all with DM . Respect to DM as well he’s getting the best out of this unbalanced squad .
Only the players would know but Funso who was vocal about Croz going has suddenly put together two strong performances again. Thats just putting two and two together.
The team is certainly playing with a lot more energy now you’d certainly say that.

You can say on almost all goals there was something the defence could have done better. Defenders at this level hate players running at them. Always have and always will. Got to have a go though to make it happen and Baylee showed the confidence and technique to put them on their heels.

Full time, brilliantly done Vale. Great performance. 3 clean sheets in 4 as well. Bring on the Cobblers.

We’ve just got to take care of our business. Does show though we shouldn’t just treat Peterborough and Bolton as throwaways in our run-in. These teams will have their own pressures they’re dealing with and you never know what it could do to them.

Not sure if they’ve been doing some more fitness work lately in training but the energy levels in the last two games are night and day compared to before.

This Rovers keeper is an absolute competition winner. Looks as bad as some of the shockers we’ve had in the past.
Nearly Lofty. Brilliant from Baylee again. That will be another £10m if anyone from City or Chelsea are reading…

Right we’ve been in this position before a few times. Keep going Vale, don’t give them any hope. This might be a chance to claw back some of that GD too.

BAYLEE that is filth!!!!

Decent half that for us I think. Another 45 like that Vale please. We’ve been putting some nice deliveries into the box mostly through Sang.

Seen this a few times now with Loft. He’s can pick a pass out quite well.

No he didn't,he had 2 players on the line so for me it was perfectly blasted into the roof of the net.... that should hopefully give him much needed confidence going into the last 8 games and also give him breathing space from the fans which will also help him imo
A MASSIVE well done Lofty lad
You’re absolutely right. The behind the goal cam shows it well that defender would have blocked it if he went low so it was the one place he could hit it and the percentages were in his favour. Really well done.
Was a great save by Blackman too in fairness to him. He was copping it from the Vale fans all second half.

What’s it on joe?
Club tweeted it and presume it’s on their Facebook and insta page too. Can see how happy all Lofts teammates are for him

If this game doesn’t end with a Ryan Loft breakaway and smashing it home in front of the Hamil what are we even doing??
Just got to go according to the DC mantra of one game at a time. Apply the same grit and determination they showed today and we have a shout.

Watching the goal back that pass from Loft to Chislett was a thing of beauty. Well controlled on that finish too, it wasn’t an easy one particularly on that pitch and a defender throwing himself in front of him.

If anyone wants an omen Lofty in the shooting practise warmup has nailed a couple of beauts. Less said about some of the attempts from the rest the better… god loves a trier though!
Far be it from me to take all the credit for Loftys goal but what do you know 😎
And by the way if come the summertime transfer thread anyone thinks of suggesting Hudlin as an option this summer please everyone just give it short shrift. Looked like the quintessential competition winner when he came on he did.

That was thoroughly deserved for us, am so pleased we got it done today. Seemed the team played with a bit more aggression and grit. Loft was excellent with his workrate and winning aerial contests. The goal he scored it was well done by him on the build up getting it to Chizzy in the first place and also following up on the rebound. Buy a ticket win the raffle, hopefully this can be something for him to build on.
Thought the away support was brilliant today, backed the team the whole way and when Loft missed in the first half people just backed him more which pleased me. Real genius from the Burton fans behind the goal throwing a flare on the pitch after our goal.

Ideally the best club for him develop at would be a Brighton or Brentford. They have a great track record at developing talent and that would then bring in a good chance of the big sell on. It is a legitimate concern about going to Man Utd but then it’s a chance to maybe one day play for one of if not the biggest clubs in the world.
