That's a sickener, great hit with Ripley unsighted.

Massey on for Mighten. Right Massey needs to show something here, he's playing as an out and out winger here so needs to do his bit. Also great to see Garrity back on the pitch.

Two poor teams apparently 🤣 decent game now
Perhaps a little too open still at the back for my liking but it feels like we are capable of scoring. I'm just wondering if Garrity can give us 15-20 if want to roll the dice.

Great save Ripley.
Great viewing this half if you were a neutral.

Nearly Lofty.
What a brilliant counter from Vale again.

Phew Vale got away with that.
Think with Mitch almost back I'd be putting him in at Leftback as opposed to the right. We know he did it under Askey.

Great run by Weir and forced the keeper in to the save. More of that from him please.

Think that half was decent enough certainly in comparison to some of our other recent efforts. Well done to Darren Moore for making the change in shape and looked better for it.

Whatever happens for the rest of the game I've seen enough in half an hour to tell me if we don't go back to wingbacks again it will be too soon.
Just need to be careful of Readings threat out wide. Seems to be where most of their best work is coming.

Why hasn’t mighten been playing. Looks so dangerous. Glorious first touch from lofty just as well
Very refreshing to see someone in our lineup who is terrifying the opposition defender each time he gets on the ball.

Really nice counter there by Vale to get Mighten in down the left. That's a nice sign to see how we've been trying to play through the lines more.

And a tackle Smudger would of been proud of
Does feel we are still a bit frantic defensively but we were with the three at the back. Good block from Smith on the cross when their man got in on our right side.
Actually been a far better game than a relegation scrap could be expected to be.

Feels like there's been more of a fluidity to what we're doing at the moment in this formation. Loft putting himself about well, shown a turn of pace.

I think we’ll get enough points from home games.Any points from away games will be a bonus.
That will be what determines our chances. Whatever can muster up away great but win the bulk of the home ones and that would go a huge way to doing it. Easier said than done but with the exception of Oxford I don’t think there’s another promotion challenger coming to VP now so no excuses for this bunch to not go for it.

Not sure how much stock should put into it but if even half true (and this is Pete O’Rourkes site) the idiot son has outdone himself this time 🤣🤣
Gareth you’d know what to do….

While nothing will be decided in the immediate future there is an opportunity here for us to get some daylight over Charlton. Their next three fixtures are Bolton, Portsmouth and Derby so we need to be going balls to the wall trying to get something from our fixtures in that time.

Cheltenham are making it very tough for us to stay up we need drag another team into it somehow
You’re right but at some point we need to help ourselves so one way to stick another nail in the coffin is to go there and win.
Charlton also held to a draw and Cambridge and Wycombe losing things could be worse for us.

And Wiredu now levelled it for Fleetwood against Reading. Happily take that.

Nice little boost for us with Barnsley getting a stoppage time leveller at Shrews. I think it’s them primarily who are the target we could haul in.

What if his contract is cancelled thus making him a free agent?
I think it would have to have been done prior to transfer deadline day as the club would still hold his registration which is why I presume the <ovf censored> did that with Dwight Gayle.

Burton v Carlisle now off as well.

Regardless of the result would rather just get this game done and dusted than have the backlog go into March.

But call me a miserable old cynic, I saw that in amongst the <ovf censored> on Twitter that Mitch Clark replied to one of the clubs posts (probably the open letter Carol tweet) with an attention seeking post of his own about it great to be back in the grass. I’ve noticed hes done this a lot over the last few years, puts a comment to get a attention from fans (usually our own), but I felt his reply to the clubs open letter was the wrong time and place to put it. Anyway hopefully he’s back soon and has managed to find some form whilst he’s been away.
No he didn’t put it in reply to anything. He made a separate post just saying after 4 months out it was nice to be back on the grass. The Vale Twitter account retweeted him not the other way round. Plenty of things to criticise at the moment but this is reaching a bit quite honestly.

Maybe sacking the very experienced club secretary while refusing to publicly explain why wasn't the most well thought out or well executed master plan.
Jess Frost has been listed as the club secretary on the official site since at least July 2023. She's also on there as an "executive assistant" under the boardroom section. i.e., presumably, Carol's PA.
Why would you sack Colin and replace him with, again this is presumably, your PA? He held a critically important role.
Carol herself when she first took over said Colin was an expert on all the rules and regulations etc and was a massive help on that. Maybe I’m just being crazy but it certainly seems someone with that expertise and respect in the industry would be a useful thing to want to have but what do I know.

Cambridge must be fuming after they took him off the scrapheap when he got fired by Gillingham. Their fixture list is not very kind at all so it's more than plausible they could get hauled in by the time we meet them, obviously some of that is pending who replaces him.
Can't imagine Millwall fans would be particularly impressed either. Outside of what he did for them as a player you'd be looking at that as the lazy option and seems a downgrade on Rowett at the very least.
