  1. For me, a fully fit committed Funso would be outstanding in League Two, he was a level above Mansfield for example in the cup, to bounce back quick then you want players like him, Chis and Garrity.
  2. I would consider him certainly.
  3. Looking at it as a clean slate "Whats going to get us back" I would say: James Wilson - 1 year deal - scored goals at that level is one I would look to keep who is out of contract. Smith, Ojo (if he can be bothered), Garrity, Chislett, Ripley, Clark, Leutwiller, Debrah should be retained if possible, show some nuts and don't accept bids unless ridiculous for our key players. Jones I worry about injuries otherwise hes a decent L2 player, Sang and Grant should be stand out at that level but I haven't seen enough battle to think they'd dig in at Harrogate on a January Tuesday night so probably let go. Loft as forth choice in L2 maybe but he has lost the fan base already so would be a long way back for him. Plant, Shorrock, Dipepa, possibly Lomax and Walters if he stays should benefit from a lower level and come on strong. I'd be looking for left wing back and a more orthodox Right and left back option so we can actually be flexible. 2 strikers of a decent calibre in L2 level, a battling central midfielder and playmaker and a couple of wingers, along with 2 centre halves. GK: Ripley/Leutwiller RWB/RB: Mitch Clark, Lomax plus one CB: Smith, Debrah, poss Jones plus 2 more LWB/LB: Shorrock plus one RW: 1 New LW: Plant plus 1 CM: Garrity, Chislett, Ojo (if he can be bothered), Walters plus 2 CF: Wilson, Loft (maybe), Dipepa plus 2 Thats assuming we can keep hold of our better players and cant move Loft on. It doesnt have to be another 5 year stint starting off with struggle like before but we have to get the summer spot on. Wrexham, Stockport likely gone, Gills or MK potentially gone so it isn't going to be full of big budgets like now but we need to show some bounce back.
  4. Happened in 2017/18, we smashed Luton 4-0 December 29th or 30th didn't win again until Good Friday! (30th March). We'd won 4 and drew 1 in 5 leading up to that run). I genuinely believe losing Uche has killed us, he isn't a goal machine but he held the ball up at times and caused problems and gave us physicality. We were creating hatfuls in games in December with him in the side, no surprise Chislett, Garrity and Wilson produced the goods playing with him (and Massey).
  5. I actually thought we were better than we have been for a while Saturday, we actually created some very good chances and had a bit of effort in us, all be it against probably the worst side we've faced all season (which is damning when they've taken 6 points off us!) but again, 2 sloppy set piece defending including the build up to the first corner and some wayward finishing/great keeping cost us. You'd put your house on Garrity to score one on one for instance (Loft got battered for that). Doesn't seem to matter what we do or how we play though that defensive lapse we have is costing us, and its not like we dont change the back three to try and solve it. We should really have won Saturday but the key pieces of quality were not there at the big moments and its why we are heading down unfortunately.
  6. Shrews are on odd one, lost more than anyone and scored less, what so far has saved them is it is all or nothing, they don't really draw many so have managed to win a few more than you'd expect for a side that's lost 20 in 36, 26 goals for is terrible however Burton (scored 29 put 3 past us) and Cheltenham (scored 29 put 5 past us over 2 games!). We need to show some solid defending first an foremost. If we can win this then confidence is up, we need to win this and one of the Orient/Oxford games (maybe 2 draws) to get right back into contention for me... take it in little steps, but this and the Burton Away are must wins, if we can get a couple of points or a win in those two between that and win one of the 2 Easter fixtures then we'd have a decent chance going into the last 3 home games (all be it probably need 6-7 points from those 3 if we lose all the others between). Its a huge ask still unless two teams really have a bad run it and set the target to 46 like last season maybe but one step at a time, win this then look at Orient.
  7. Good result last night as Charlton are stronger, Cheltenham look like they lost Matty Taylor for the season as well and injuries are pilling up and have lost form so a win Saturday likely would see us above them which is 1 of 2 we need to overhaul. Its down to us now and ironically in our own hands with those fabled games in hand.
  8. Massive game really, it is the last last chance saloon, Shrewsbury have lost the most in the league and have scored even less than us so its certainly one we should be looking to win but that would involve our side having the desire to have a go first! Win this it opens the door ajar and gives us chance to get within a win of overhauling them, lose or draw and its good night Vienna (well Goodnight L1 and hello Valley Parade again)
  9. At least 3 of the coaches have been here since DM was appointed.
  10. A few miles from me! Its where they went pre season before the promotion season.
  11. I think Flitcroft is ok in League Two because its easier to recruit, we are a relatively large fish, with a higher end budget so recruiting your Tom Petts, Jamie Proctors shouldn't be too difficult. In League One its a different scenario as we are a smaller fry, smaller budget for that level and that seems to be where we lose out.
  12. What happened to the Icelandic player?
  13. Its hard to judge Moore on this, he has literally nothing to work with... 17 year old youth player and Ryan Loft who's destroyed confidence wise. No wide men or full backs No workable central defensive partnership, (whatever combination we try it doesnt seem to work). No midfield. I will judge him next season when he has his own players in but I doubt even Pep or Klopp could turn this around.
  14. His position should be untenable after 14 months of utter failure on the football side of the club which is his department. In a relegation battle no way in a million years should a 17 year old youth player be leading the line and thats a damning indictment of his performance in the last 14 months. I don't know where we go from here, Carol seems to not see it, in fact she went on the offensive over critics of him in the open letter so what on earth do we do? Another bad window or two and we could be looking at non league football unless a lot changes. He did a great job summer 2021 but we can't live of that going forward, it was a great season, Wembley was great but means nothing when we are back where we started... which we will be in 2 months time.
  15. Not a chance, defensively they were poor which is criminal that we sat back rather than keep going, their 44 was lively against Sang but for all the crosses he put in most didnt beat the first man! The corner was about the only trouble we had with their crossing, it was always the exact same cross as well which is more a damning indictment of Sang as he cut inside every time! Lawal was pretty poor after being superb at their place. Fleetwood wont win 7 or 8 out of their last 11 to survive, they've won 6 all season.
  16. If it happened over the summer before the fixtures you'd get bumped back up like Stevenage possibly.
  17. Its not about competing with Derby or Bolton for me but we should be competitive with sides like Wycombe, Stevenage and Lincoln so no reason we shouldn't be competing. We are a bigger club than the 3 in the drop zone with us for example, should be capable of finishing with or above Burton, Shrewsbury or Exeter.
  18. I love Carol and appreciate all both Carol and Kevin have done, and to a degree Flitcroft who turned us around hiring DC and the great window we had the summer of 2021. That doesnt mean they can't be questioned on the failings now however which are probably more likely than not going to put us back where we were in 2021 in L2 needing a summer to build a promotion side again. IF we go down it wont be your typical lack of spending in the club, £10 million, some on the purchase granted but we probably have more spending on the club than we ever have... it wont be down to being poorly owned or a basket case either so it feels a very needless situation to be in to be honest... thats the main frustration.
  19. To be fair I thought Mighten was equal to them but once he went off our threat was largely gone which meant their wingers were even more free to have a go at our full backs, DJ did alright but once it was Grant there it was messy, this is the problem with trying to change things in February, had Moore had a couple of weeks we may have been able to get a full back into the club, as it is we are waiting on Mitch Clarke really but dont have anyone whos really a full back. Cant get away with playing wingers there as easily as you can wing Back for example.
  20. MK battered us that game on sky, we were terrible but got a penalty which we missed but got lucky with the rebound. Was such a frustrating one, what cost us was an injury time equaliser from Gillingham deep into injury time in the February time against us, we went down by a point on them and they'd have gone instead had we held on!
  21. It all has the Bruno Ribeiro season feel about it now. Started really well, played some lovely football at times, home form was great, didn't concede at home the first few matches, replace the loss to Burton with the loss to Coventry at home that season which then started the wheels coming away from the axel, Loft - Martin Patterson, the loss of Arblaster and Devine to the loss of Grant and Alnwick and you could go on...
  22. I felt more positive after that performance (But I was also positive after the Stevenage one and we didn't build on that!). We played some nice stuff and looked more comfortable, Loft should score and you can see confidence is at a low ebb throughout but something to work from with the 4 at the back. However we need Mitch Clark back and fast, once DJ went off Grant was torn to pieces so Clark at LB, Sang at RB might be the way to go, all be it Azeez is a very good winger at this level. Cracking Goal to break us, that said Wing scored an identical one last season against us at Wycombe! but our heads dropped after that. Defensively we did seem to panic every ball into the box as well so need to calm down.
  23. Moore didn't really play him often at Wednesday from what I read.
