  1. Thank God for your re-assurance that people won't pay £400 for league two. So we won't be seeing you and your mate Bratt, then!!
  2. He probably was whilst Bratt was Chair as he was prepared to turn out morning, noon and night working with a pitchfork and no budget. Unfortunately, when faced with a honest and entrepreneurial boss who was willing to invest a million and more on redesigning and improving the pitch Steve, I suspect, didn't meet the criteria required.
  3. Your comments are clearly wind ups not worthy of serious consideration. However, the last paragraph is true. Beating him with a stick is far too lenient.
  4. Since when has 'reality' been at the forefront of a football fans mind. You clearly aren't one.
  5. It's a football fans forum. What do you expect?
  6. And whilst we all lost our money BB didn't, and from what Brian Johnson and Santa are posting you know the truth of the matter. Santa's comment about BBs share sale is exactly what happened. BTW during the period of his receiving £50K plus a year would you like to state what money via sponsorship he brought into the club? None, except Harlequin !!! Enough said.
  7. Hi Santa I didn't go, but that empty coffin carried up to Vale Park might need resurrecting and filling if some of the comments he is purportedly to have said were said. I am personally astonished, but not surprised, to hear he even comes into Burslem never mind give a talk on his time at the Vale ... Pot kettle and black Brass neck Are just a couple of mild comments I will make as the OVF filter would have a field day on what many from that time would post.
  8. Harking back to the RW interview. He said that with Carol and family now owning the club he feels he can now re-invest his heart back into the club. Maybe he might invest more than his heart, and sponsor a hallmark signing that would clearly show actions speak louder than words?
  9. Totally agree with this comment. Matt was completely right at the meeting by saying that social media can be a brilliant form of communication but also completely the opposite when in the hands of people who think they can say what they like via it because they are not accountable. It's a sad world, and getting ever more so, when someone gets pleasure from filming and distributing someone else's grief. I don't confine this just to the incident in the Valiant Suite as its rife these days in so many situations. Whatever happened to compassion?
  10. Totally agree with this comment. We are playing last match of a god awful season. Nothing to worry about as already relegated. So great chance to go out, play attacking football, and entertain the only section of Port Vale who can hold their heads high- us fans! But no. Stick to tippy uckin tappy across the back with a keepie playing left back at goal kicks. Boring, boring, boring - bored senseless. What a total and utter disgrace.
  11. Bob Hazell was a kitten off the pitch. Not sure I would have wanted to upset him all the same.
  12. The cons far outweigh the pros. The biggest con is we postponed Saturday games to fit international call ups. Losing ticket revenue and quite possibly, in our case, points and our league 1 standing. If a young loan joins us he spends time getting up to speed. Then when showing potential gets recalled by his owning club. We then have to start again. Or if he is a loan we want to look at before signing then when we try to sign him we are out bid (as per the goalscorer who left us for Bradford? Some seasons ago) We have been relegated because of an egotistical DOF who brought in young prem/championship loans, promoted our own academy too soon, and failed in his basic number one job of signing league 1 competent and experienced players to play in their recognised positions. Sorry to go off topic ... Congratulations to you Ollie. You appear to be a good guy who has a long, successful, career in front of you. I just wish we, as a club, had not based our 'process' on a project where everyone benefitted except the Vale.
  13. I agree about earning your own luck mate but Rick O'Shay hasn't favoured us with his presence this season other than for the opposition!
  14. I just want us to have the run of the green and some luck and decisions go our way.
  15. The performance last night was very disheartening. Somehow Moore has to get a turn out of this disjointed and demoralised squad not once, not twice but three times in our remaining home games. He will deserve Manager of the season if our heads are still above water at the end of this season. Personally I don't want to see Ripleyrolla ball out to Smith or Uncle Cobbley ever again. The insanity of trying to play the Man City way with footballers who are clinging to league 1 football shows the inmates have escaped the asylum!
  16. First off ... they paid well over the odds to keep our club in existence and no an alternative Fairy Godmother was not standing in the wings. Secondly ... in addition to buying the club the Shanahan's provided the finance to take us into league 1. Thirdly ... the investment to ensure the club could and can play at Vale Park has been £11M Finally Someone who put nothing into Vale and took everything out ... Flitcroft is the culprit and Carol's mistake was to Trust him. Perhaps we need to show support not belittle.
  17. Think that's bit pathetic Stamford. When we have an owner who, for the very first time in my memory (1957 started watching) who has actually invested in the club rather than shafting it that is poor mate. £11,000,000 is it at the last count? If it was me and you were a typical fan I would just say 'uk you'. Are you going to fill the gap? The Shanahan's (particularly Carol) deserve our support at the minute IMHO
  18. How much cheaper does this offer make it. Not exactly Christmas is it?
  19. Strange how Sjoke's match mirrored ours. Only difference is they will definitely be in their league again next season and we won't be in ours.
  20. Longport Oatcakes are the only Premier league outfit we will ever see in the Potteries!
  21. I think we are all getting addled as to how the xxx we are in this mire in the first place!
  22. So loyal fans who paid for their tickets early pay full price, but glory seekers who want to see the cup winners get there's for half price? Let's hope we send them all home disappointed. Darren Moore's tactics remind me a lot of Micky Adams. Get tight at the back and work from there.
  23. One thing that I think is in our favour and that's who has the best Manager when comparing their careers.
