  1. I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs.
  2. Lots of twists and turns to come, and those who seem to have pulled away can quickly be pegged back. If we constantly pick up points and don’t lose this new attacking shape we have, not all the teams around us will be able to keep us. We focus on us, keep chipping away and we can stay up on the last day. Obviously if we lose the games we need to win it’s curtains; we’ll get the points though I think. I thought we were dead and buried when we couldn’t score a goal or create a chance, then we kept 3 clean sheets in 4 and won 2 in a row.
  3. No I’m saying that is my prediction for how the land will lie come game 46.
  4. It’s going down to the wire. Cambridge safe but we have to beat Burton’s result to stay up on the final day.
  5. I’m looking forward to getting in players that play in one position and one position only, then signing back up players to stand in for them should they be tangled up by suspensions or injuries. Like a proper transfer window, squad balance, formation fitting planned strategy sort of thing.
  6. Last chance saloon until the next chance saloon.
  7. Another season in L1 with 75% of this squad can only result in a circa 18th finish anyway. Using them to consolidate in mid-table in L2 and then rebrand and rebuild in the 2nd season with all the deadwood chopped wouldn’t be the worst - it’s just a long plan than Moore would have to commit to.
  8. Put it this way, I’d rather be Vale than Burton right now.
  9. We only have to overtake Burton. They only have 5 games and 40 points. They are in dire form and though we have lost today we look like a side capable of creating chances and picking up points. They would need to win 3 of 5 to get to 49, which is a big if. We can catch them and hopefully Cheltenham don’t drop us back to 4th bottom.
  10. Stay in touch over this 3 game away stint then jump above at the last minute off the back of some home success. That’s the plan.
  11. We’ll turn this around. Let’s get Uche on sooner rather than later.
  12. Burton won’t hold on against Barnsley. Wigan obviously there for the beating. Getting through these 3 games in touching distance (3-4 points) and it’s back in the balance.
  13. They’ve conceded the 4th most in the league so keep the pressure on.
  14. We’ve got Peterborough after all the exertions, highs and lows of the FLT final. Best time to play them as they bump back to reality.
  15. How come Darrell played such a rigid lineup with us but apparently has Cheltenham playing 3142!
  16. They have nothing to play for, we have everything to play for. That can be the difference.
  17. If you’d have told me in midweek that Flitcroft would be gone, Vale would beat Burton and Loft would score the winner … I’d have said you are very positive and I hope that optimism turns into reality, please leave your contact details so I can comment on the accuracy of your prophecy should it occur.
  18. If we can get through those 3 away games without major issue - maybe 4 points, I fancy the fight back. We’ll see, but well done to all involved today. Bristol Rovers was a big game last season…. And to be fair the season before that!
  19. Why did Loft not tell the fans he was on strike until Flitcroft left? He could’ve saved himself a lot of grief.
  20. Loft gets the nod. Guess the formation.
  21. Just like a manager needs his own coaches, a DOF needs his own personnel. Wipe the slate and start again; there are people there complicit in signing the squad we have today and worsening it in January.
  22. No but it gives him an easy out if we go down and he wants to leave: I was brought in because I believed in DF’s vision and planning, and now it’s a different state of affairs etc.
  23. Yak and Lopata not rated or carrying knocks? For me they’d be in there in some capacity for every game. Yak has mistakes in him but I think he’s one who thrives on consistency. Debrah Smith Lopata Yak as a flat, solid, tall defence. Forget going forward just stay in position. I’d rather Jesse at RB over Smith as he is deceptively quick, but like I say not bombing up and down. Can’t change the shape and personnel of the defence every game and expect clean sheets, though my worry is DM is adhering to that principle as much as he can - just with the wrong players!
  24. When’s the follow up / full explanation going to be shared?
