  1. No but it gives him an easy out if we go down and he wants to leave: I was brought in because I believed in DF’s vision and planning, and now it’s a different state of affairs etc.
  2. Yak and Lopata not rated or carrying knocks? For me they’d be in there in some capacity for every game. Yak has mistakes in him but I think he’s one who thrives on consistency. Debrah Smith Lopata Yak as a flat, solid, tall defence. Forget going forward just stay in position. I’d rather Jesse at RB over Smith as he is deceptively quick, but like I say not bombing up and down. Can’t change the shape and personnel of the defence every game and expect clean sheets, though my worry is DM is adhering to that principle as much as he can - just with the wrong players!
  3. When’s the follow up / full explanation going to be shared?
  4. Absolutely. Saving, balancing and developing a football club is a mammoth, ongoing task. 2 steps forward 1 step back and constant problems at all clubs at all levels. She’s an incredibly generous and devoted owner. No doubt Flitcroft did some decent things but this calendar year has been totally unacceptable and have exposed fundamental issues that needed to be addressed. No doubt he would have carried on if passionate fans had not spoken up or been gaslighted into accepting the normal at the club. Just get a decent director of football now Carol.
  5. Please Carol don’t put your foot in it by directly or indirectly blaming fan pressure. It’s not the people who point out the faults who are at fault.
  6. Late to the party. Bloody work. <ovf censored> YEEEEEEESZZZSSSSJDJDNDMSKRMKFMFMDMDMCMCMCKCK! oi oi oi
  7. The government has announced its plan for an Independent Football Regulator (IFR) for the professional men's game. Which will include: • An obligation to consult fans on "key off-field decisions" will also be a requirement of the licence. This could include decisions on club heritage and strategic direction. ^ Maybe fan's concerns will be actioned when this comes into play, rather than being fobbed off with 'listening'.
  8. The route to 50 points starts here. We need to start strongly in this last stretch with a minimum of 4 points against Burton, that will set us up for at least another 4 points from Brizzle, getting us in touching distance. Then three away games, we can discount. But never fear, a stomping 5 points against Exeter will see us storming back, before getting rolled by Wycombe and smashed by Bolton. This will set up a simple 4 points to collect on the final day. If we end up losing to any of the first lot, we may need 8 - 10 points on the last day but I back the lads to get the job done.
  9. Flitcroft stays: we drop further, fans / owner wedge gets deeper, fans stop caring rather than engaging Flitcroft goes: fans get the blame, fans / owner wedge stagnates, what happens from there who knows
  10. In charge of recruitment for a relegated side. Time for a change.
  11. Last game of the season or when relegation is confirmed for the Flitcroft protest?
  12. This season has been an absolute disaster. I don’t mean the relegation necessarily, though obviously that’s a huge setback - but the whole direction of the club is pointing backwards. The priorities are all wrong. The first team football doesn’t even seem to be a top 5 priority. From Crosby, to recruitment ethos, to actual recruitment, to management, leadership, fan engagement, repeated mistakes, losing loans, injuries. It’s just been awful, and this is the future.
  13. That's what I am worried about. I think with his own team he can do a decent job. But who would take him in L1 off the back of the end of this season, should we be relegated? He'd have to rebuild his reputation with a strong start to L2 before jumping ship back to L1, surely?
  14. I don't understand the logic of that philosophy. Aspire to become a championship club through incremental development, but 'behaving' like one is naïve and simplistic. I'd rather us behave as a professional and ambitious 'whatever league we are in' club, and build from there with a solid foundation.
  15. I don't think we'll see Gore again; I wonder how much that 45 mins against Pompey have cost us both financially and a precious place in the squad we could have filled with a much-needed anchorman - our very own Ron Burgundy.
  16. where is Walters? Him and Ojo together would make sense.
  17. 1

    Why???

Micky Adams as DOF, never thought of that. I'll meditate on the pros and cons over the next 10 minutes or so.
  18. I hope that is the case. Can’t keep chopping and changing in my opinion.
  19. VALE 3 oxford burton 1 1 Brizzle Northampton 1 0 Exeter wigan 1 3 Wycombe peterborough 0 3 Cambridge bolton 0 46 CAMBRIDGE 3 wigan reading 1 1 charlton barnsley 0 0 derby blackpool 0 3 wycombe brizzle 1 vale 0 48 By those predictions they still finish above. We could do with beating Burton to drag them right in.
  20. ^ This is assuming we are in League 2, but obviously I hope we're in League 1 and there's still an outside chance!
  21. We don’t have to be decent, we have to be the 5th worst, and at the moment Cheltenham, Burton and Cambridge are at least as shaky as us.
  22. Hopefully can against the other teams playing for nothing coming up: Northampton, Rovers, Cambridge (though hopefully they’ll be dragged back in)
  23. Suddenly things look a bit better… Oxford dropped off a cliff, next to Vale Park. Followed up by Burton in touching distance, all with games in hand. Green shoots.
